A recent addition to Phoenix LiveView is JS.toggle_class/1. It replaced my use of Alpine.js and custom hooks. Check out how it can boost your dev experience with easy visibility toggles, animations, dynamic lists, and more! https://fly.io/phoenix-files/my-favorite-new-liveview-feature/

After 6 years of development, Phoenix LiveView is approaching 1.0.0 and Chris McCord (the creator) has written an excellent article about the journey and why LiveView is different.

https://www.phoenixframework.org/blog/phoenix-liveview-1.0-released

We started using Elixir, Phoenix and LiveView in early 2020 and it has changed the way we build applications and think about problems. It still amazes me every day and most importantly: It is so much fun.

👋 Hey!

I'm looking for a remote or consulting gigs, or a contract/permanent position.

I'm a software developer with 20 years of exp, of which last 10 I've been working exclusively with teams.

Things I built during my career: communication platforms, doc processing pipelines, booking solutions, messaging apps, ...

I created this cool thing too: https://asciinema.org

EU TZs preferred, although EST is fine too.

Boost pls!

I have spent countless hours debugging because apparently Elixir will sometimes print an integer list as characters instead. Apparently, you can specify them to be printed as an integer list, but I don't know how to do that when inspecting a struct containing the list.

This is my #GetFediHired post like all the cool kids are making.

Recently moved to Helsinki to my wife, and escaping the Icelandic winds. And looking for a job here.

Have a 20+ years #backend developer experience working with #elixirlang, #NodeJS and #Ruby.

Also have a natural science degree(Forest science) where I learned to love #rstats, #GIS and #Statistics programming.

I can promise great problem solving skills that come from experience, curiosity, ethics and an adult take on life.

🕺 It's a new Changelog & Friends!

Our old friend @josevalim & his team have been hard at work adding gradual typing to Elixir. 🏋️

They’re only 1-3% of the way there, but a lot of progress has been made. 🙌

So, we invited him back on the show for a deep-dive on why, how & when Elixir will be gradually typed. 🧐

Alright, so the goal this weekend is to start setting up a completely open source marketing engine for Hurricane Blonde, my music project.

Right now I'm thinking:

  1. Digital Ocean or Linode w/ Ubuntu for the web server

  2. for the site (I know you're going to recommend Hugo or Ghost but I have 20 years of experience with Wordpress and it's comfortable)

  3. @keila for the newsletter.

  4. @Matomo for analytics

  5. ??? for email

What am I missing?

@killyourfm @jonte @Matomo Fun fact: Plausible is built on the same tech stack as Keila, namely the Phoenix framework and the Elixir language. #elixirlang

🔮 How to Sell Elixir (2023)
— Evadne Wu

「 In most software systems, there can be islands of specialisation, and complex problems usually arise in interactions between subsystems. The orchestration philosophy imbued in Elixir & Erlang/OTP is uniquely suitable to act as the glue between all components, providing high cohesion and high robustness at low cost 」
