"Since the first day of #COP28 we observed a massive increase in private #jets traffic over #Dubai. Prominent individuals like CEOs of fossil corporations and super-rich who pretend to give a shit about the climate, went to discuss how to save the planet... by private jet."
Their use to go to a global summit about climate is paradoxical.

"We are hosting a #hackathon Thursday 7th Dec 19 - 20:30 CET and will track all those private jets that went to Dubai during COP28."

Desert city of flooded.

This wasn't cheap or poorly designed infrastructure, Dubai is too vast and has too many drainage channels for it to be an infrastructure problem

Dubai received over 200mm/9inches of rain in less than 24hrs. That more rain than some monsoons

Dubai is also a DESERT

is real.

In #Dubai fielen gestern 160mm Regen.

The record-breaking rain that recently fell over the United Arab Emirates and Dubai was driven partly by climate change, a team of 21 scientists and researchers found. The extreme weather was 10-40% more intense than what locals would normally see in a typical El Niño year and resulted in around two dozen deaths. CNN tells us more: https://flip.it/gTpejq
