Yeah. So over these terrible people.

Jack is spending his time openly embracing twitter while blabbing about open source on Elon's burning platform.

I created this Mastodon account for a simple reason: #ElonMusk is a far right, illiberal hack, who has destroyed one of the great communication tools of the digital era. He's a vandal, a low intellect huckster, and a racist twerp. #twitter #corruption #Socialmedia #technology #propaganda #plutocracy #oligarchy #authoritarianism https://mashable.com/article/threads-instagram-download

kkarhan,

@Centurion480 #Dorsey isn't an idot, but a #bootlicker!

This is the front page of the London Evening Standard today. It is very, very strange that the editor should think that an unreleased app from Meta which will almost certainly fail is the most important 'news' event for Londoners. Why?

It's super weird how there doesn't seem to be a single investigative journalist out there who's actually covering the #Bluessky/#Dorsey beat with any interest or professional rigor.

I have the same slow-motion-car-wreck feeling throughout 2020 as I was reading the public signs & warning people GOP were plotting to coup. Folks had 1 of 2 strategies:

  1. Laugh at the idea & call me "emotional."
  2. Just studiously pretend I hadn't spoken & there was nothing to see.

The avoidance is the creepiest.

    Have you read @raccoon’s thoughtful & sourced analyses of the design & coding choices #Dorsey made with #Bluesky? They are worth it. They cast doubt on every one of those 3 assertions you cite from the article.

    As you pointed out, Dorsey earned a general distrust from pro-democracy factions by his choices at Twitter & pushing hard to sell Twitter to Musk.

    As BS comes into focus, that distrust is well founded & should sharpen their wits further.

    I agree.

    I would also like to ask the additional questions:

    👉Who thinks that #Twitter will survive?👈

    👉If not, to which platform do you think that most of its remaining users will migrate to?👈

    As you can see in several of my older threads and an article of @davetroy #Musk, #Thiel, and #Dorsey are very much aligned on strategy.

    A leading European finance journal just called #Bluesky "The New Twitter"*.

    @w7voa Nothing has ever been less surprising.

    This is the man that #Bluesky owner Jack Dorsey gushed that he trusted to "extend the light of consciousness" (which means, colonize space under the nutbar ideology of longtermism, which #Dorsey shares with #Musk).

    Longtermism is explicitly scornful of the use of our collective resources to help others in the here and now, because that reduces the expenditures towards colonizing space.

    Well, this is an unexpected curveball.

    Jack Dorsey hopes that Bluesky will be “temporary”.

    Bluesky is going to skyrocket to mainstream popularity and actually replace Twitter, and Mastodon cannot, because Bluesky is being designed to be simple, fun, and — most importantly — easy to understand.

    choyer,

    @gruber Interesting how U.S. tech guys always see the world almost exclusively through U.S. glasses. Of course the next Silicon Valley tech bros thing is the hottest thing from that viewpoint… Well, not so much here, in the rest of the world. For me personally, it’s a matter of principle - I’d rather be not on social media than joining #Dorsey’s latest iteration of an app undermining civil society.

    Ist das tatsächlich so?
    Ich habe mich mal interessehalber für #Bluesky auf die Warteliste setzen lassen, aber seitdem (vor ein paar Wochen) nichts mehr gehört. Außerdem halte ich das ganze Vorhaben von Jack #Dorsey ehrlich gesagt für egoistisch, vielleicht sogar für egomanisch. Er wusste sehr wohl, dass es das #Fediverse bereits gab, und hätte etwas entwickeln (lassen) können, das zumindest #ActivityPub beherrscht. Spricht ja nichts dagegen, wenn es mit eigenen Protokollstandards noch darüber hinaus geht. Das tut beispielsweise auch #Hubzilla. Aber wer nicht bereit ist, existierende #W3C Standards einzuhalten (ActivityPub ist ein W3C-Standard, so wie HTML oder CSS), bastelt letztlich nur ein neues AOL.

    Jack Dorsey enthusiastically co-signed the deal that betrayed 200 million Twitter users and handed their accounts over to a fucking right wing egomaniacal billionaire. You’ll have to excuse me if I’m not eager to sign up for another one of this dude’s schemes.

    krisvdm,

    @Green_Footballs
    I suspect there is something dark behind Jack and his promised blue sky app that is supposed to be a twitter replacement. I read Dorsey still owns a large portion of shares. (2.4 percent).
    I suspect the promised app may be a False Flag operation, so that people wait indefinitely for bluesky. The idea is to stop people from moving on to better alternatives like
