Sitting down is usually done gracefully by donks, but getting up again is always a bit awkward. Matilde has classic Andalusian breed facial features, accentuated in the effort to get up.
Rubí: "Do you know why this is called crazy paving?"
Matilde: "Yes. Because you can't eat it."
The rain in Spain falls mainly on the donkey field, so donks are having another break from their muddy field after two weeks of rain, and there's more to come.
Rubí inspects Matilde's dapples which finally appear after a lot of grooming work: curry-combing away her thick brownish winter coat which is like a scruffy door mat that needs quite a few sessions to brush away.
