Completed setup of a #refurbed small Windows PC today and remoted into it from my MacBook to #debug some #nodejs code that was failing its windows tests on GitHub Actions

Is almost 20 years since Windows was my primary dev machine – it feels so alien nowadays when all my dev work is centered around git and cli-tools

I am still struggling to #debug some #proprietary #audio #plugin (s) using a #flatpak DAW. Is there any way I can see what resources the plugins are trying to access from within the Flatpak #sandbox? Running #bitwig with flatpak run -v com.bitwig.BitwigStudio does not reveal anything and flatpak run --command=sh --devel com.bitwig.BitwigStudio > gdb /app/bin/bitwig-studio (after installing org.freedesktop.Sdk.Debug) only says: (No debugging symbols found in /app/bin/bitwig-studio)

My February Theme is Hyperbolic Space!

I chose the Hyperboloid Model as it is embedded in Minkowski Space analoguously to the Hypersphere in E4.

So I take my Hypersphere code and just refactor it, sprinkle in some minuses and add some "h"es to the trig-functions, right?

Testing on a growing regular Tetrahedron.
Working well!
... Until it doesn't.

#debug #hyperbolic #codeart #mathart

Tetrahedron growing, the seeming distortion is due to the internal angles getting smaller. Then , while the vertices still seem to behave, the geodesics start to act out.

Ok. Fun for you. (I worked out the solution, your challenge is to work out what the cause is).

Machine a is connected to machine b, via a direct ethernet cable. On machine a it's connected to eth5. On b its eth0. A is assigned 192.168.1.1, and b is assigned .2. There is no ping. Communication doesn't seem to work.

Running tcpdump on machine a causes ping to work. But only while tcpdump is running. Tcpdump on b makes no difference.

What's the cause of this ?

The #TYPO3 #Debug #ViewHelper in #Fluid sometimes confuses #integrators. Think of public getter without class property like FileReference::getProperties usable via yourFileRef.properties. Wouldn't it be better to list ALL information that can be used? What do you think?

I must have my thoughts crossed as for the life of me I can't seem to figure out this regex in BASH using a parameter expansion.

I want to search for 2 or more dashes and then replace with one dash. Here is what I thought would work, but doesn't. Any suggestions?

string="Hello-World! #debug command---line"
string="${title//[-]{2,}/-}"

#bash #regex #askfedi #AskFediverse

adamsdesk,
@adamsdesk@fosstodon.org avatar

@GreatBigTable Here is the output...

Hello-World! #debug command---line/-

hjr265, (edited )

@adamsdesk I don't think the pattern you pass there can be a regular expression. Bash has its own pattern matching rules.

https://www.gnu.org/software/bash/manual/html_node/Pattern-Matching.html

I think this does what you are trying to do (replace 2 or more consecutive dashes with a single dash):

string="Hello-World! #debug command---line"
string="${string//-+(-)/-}"

But this will work only if you enable extglob first:

shopt -s extglob

Alternatively, use sed:

string=`echo "$string" | sed -e 's/--\+/-/g'`
