The light from the #stars travels for years (and years) until it reaches your eyes. This #interactive#map of the night sky shows you for each star what happened on Earth when the light started traveling from the star to you. That way, any star has a story to tell you. You can zoom in, move around and hover all the stars to reveal the historical events they are connected to.
I think I'm gonna hack some nice #perl next year, haven't done that in a while. I also have a bunch of #R things I need to try, #D3 and some other libs and #gnuplot are waiting too and the rest will be lots of #SQL, a bunch of #go anyways and some #rust to be continued until it doesn't hurt anymore. ;) #programming
This D3.js data visualization I’m working on started as a page on my (Next.js) blog, but I think it’ll be better long-term to have it in its own repo.
After some planning for what I’ll need, I think The Pudding’s Svelte Starter Repo is the way to go. Coming from a group whose primary focus is D3.js data Viz, this looks far better than anything I could come up with.
Anyone have any recommended resources for learning Svelte?
So all I've watched is bits of clips #Yoongi#D3 here & there. I'm worried there's now a This Is BigHit coming, but it's still not for RM. I wonder if he's going last, just to make sure Tae & Jk don't cause complete undressed chaos. So it will be Yoongi & Jimin throwing aside the fluffy cardigans again & shaving their heads, and 😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥 I'm weirdly not able to cope with this thought.
Weird discovery: I'm working on a D3 equirectangular (plate carrée) map. So longitude and latitude should map directly to pixels.
And it does for the most part. But when I try to draw boxes that I'd expect to be rectangular, they come out warped. (Those red lines should be following the lines of latitude on the map.) #gis#d3
Thanks to Enrico Bertini for sharing this awesome read by Connor Rothschild about a 'framework-first' aproach to #datavisualization. I've never seen #Svelte and #D3 compared for visualization so clearly before. Really well done.
Du Bois Data Visualization Society Challenge - Week 7/10: My recreation of Du Bois' poster no.47, done with D3 & Svelte. Again I tried to recreate it as close to the original as possible, make it responsive and added a pattern fill to match the hand-painted look.
Matthias Stahl started a beginner friendly video series, where he goes through nice little mini-projects and explains how to make responsive #dataviz with the perfect combo of svelte and d3 :)
For day 13 of the #30DayChartChallenge (relationships/family) we use #Observable and #D3 to explore the malware families used by threat actors, and let you tap into them to go to the entries on Malpedia.
Du Bois Data Visualization Society Challenge - Week 6/10: My recreation of Du Bois' poster no. 54, done with D3, Svelte. Again I tried to recreate it as close to the original as possible and make it responsive.
Du Bois Data Visualization Society Challenge - Week 5/10: My recreation of Du Bois' poster no. 13, done with D3, Svelte. Added a pattern fill to match the hand-painted look & transitions on load.
