A really interesting article on the rarest DMC colour, DMC 724. It was the perfect gold colour, and was licensed exclusively to Disney to colour winnie the pooh in branded cross stitch kits. #crossstitch#embroidery
Should probably do an #introduction post as I've been here since the Musty Meltdown. I'm Suzy, I work in a chaotic little lab in the UK apart from when I'm allowed out into a field for some enrichment. In my spare time I'm a collector of hobbies including #DnD, #MiniaturePainting, #Crossstitch, #Crochet, #3dPrinting and historically, #zines. I've always loved #writing but don't do enough. Also this week I got a new housemate called #Teddy. He's small, orange and looks remarkably like a cat.
Working on a #crossstitch pattern today but it's on 18 count fabric, which I've never used before. I guess it only requires a single thread from the floss. Gonna feel a little weird but this should be fun.
Needs a wash and frame still but it was sitting on my shelf unfinished since last pride so it was nice to finish it finally. A wash in hot water will fade the grid from the fabric.

Well, girlfriend’s #crossstitch is chugging right along. Got the outline of the first otter done, and it has FEETS!! And little bitty ears and a tail!! I am going to explode because I can’t give it to her until November at the earliest and I want her to see it!!!! @fiberarts
@fiberarts Now I gotta decide if I want to continue with the dark brown and do the other otter outline or fill in this otter first. It’s an entirely meaningless decision, it is purely the same either way. So naturally I am going to waffle about it for days now because I can’t decide. Decisions are hard!! #crossstitch
Anyway, here is my #crossstitch all finished and hung up on my office wall!! It came out so cute and I love it (even if I couldn’t get it to stop being crooked in the frame). @fiberarts
Jonathan Harker apparently (probably, definitely) had a nice & uneventful May 6th & so instead of reading his diary or whatever, I spent the evening charting out a cross stitch sampler that celebrates Count Dracula’s very normal way of answering his door (from yesterday’s entry).
And that’s it!! It’s all done except the flourishes! Which are all different stitches and this pattern didn’t come with instructions on how to do the other stitches. 😭 So gotta do some googling!! #crossstitch@fiberarts
Sharing photos to hashtag baking has encouraged me to bake more, so maybe this will help me finally finish this piece that I started probably more than twenty years ago (when my eyesight was much better): Mirabilia’s Garden Verses. I’m down around her ankles now! #CrossStitch
I did say I'd be doing another #CrossStitch from my stack of printed patterns from CrossStitchQuest - and I decided to go for a big one: The Baby Metroid from Super Metroid, the one you find in Tourian before you fight Mother Brain.
Apparently this took me 10 days to complete!
(absolutely worth it, but I think I need a small sewing break - for my wrist health at least)
