Reading summaries of this week's oil & gas investments it is clear that not only is it 'business as usual' but also that the #COP28 recognition of "transitional fuels" has signalled an expansion of fossil gas production. #COP28UAE was a climate failure and a Big Oil success.
I missed this earlier. Social media influencers were paid to boost the UAE’s climate credentials in and around COP28 in what appears to be a coordinated PR effort by the host nation. It only called on countries to transition away from fossil fuels in the generation of electricity and heat for heating purposes

@masterhajoda@SheDrivesMobility@fff na ja. Ich kenne nur kritische Aussagen zur #COP28 von den fff. Dass die Öldealer weiter am Öl festhalten wollen ist wenig überraschend. Deshalb gab es ja den lauen "Abkehr von den Fossilen" Formelkompromiss. Persönlich ist dieser aber mehr als ich erwartet habe. Natürlich reicht das vorne und hinten nicht. Aber das war schon vorher klar. Dennoch kann man das Ergebnis in der Kommunikation nutzen.
