Many of us swear by it, but the benefits are difficult to aquantify, trials relatively small and of course most people who indulge are generally fit anyway.
Picture of the day: Following up on yesterday's picture of the Jellyfish Nebula, I have a picture of a Lion's Mane Jellyfish. This species can get very large, but this one was small.
Lovely #coldwater#swim somewhere in #devon, and then wandering around leaving rock and shell graffiti. It didn't have a goal, but I like to think of it as someone silently gliding through the water on their back. The clouds were amazing, but too cold to stare at them too long!
The sunshine was beautiful in shallow water, so most of my dive was spent enjoying and attempting to photograph that. I did see a brown sea raven and a couple tiny nudis, but mostly just cruised around enjoying my freshly repaired heated undergarments and the sparkling sun rays. I like the wide angle sunbeam shot, I just wish I could have found a more interesting subject for the image.
Had two great dives on October 27th in Gloucester, MA. The star was definitely the short bigeye, that's not from around these parts. I also got my first decent sand lance picture (they always dart away)
These images are from October 20. First dive back with the mirrorless after repairs! I made things challenging on myself by setting the lens at "0.4m to infinity" rather than "0.19m to infinity". There were a lot of far away shots, which made the snoot even more challenging. Surface conditions were impeccable - flat calm and 60F is as much as you can ask for in late October.
These images are from a dive on October 11th at Folly Cove in Gloucester, Massachusetts. The first dive highlight was a rock gunnel who wanted to use us for cover and the second dive was filled with northern puffers. I'm seriously enjoying snoot photography!
