Here is where he was born, the remains of the palace in Tilaurakot, where he was raised, & the east gate of the palace from where he left to seek enlightenment.
(How I had ended up here, a few months ago, is for another day.)
Gave 2 more of our small, cute #Buddha#statues a Spring makeover. All were plain gray cement before we painted them gold. They look much better - golden! One in each #succulents planters😊 Sitting on our front porch steps.
This is another one of our smaller #Buddha statues. We painted it gold. We have multiple Buddha statues of various sizes, all over our front & back gardens. We practice Taoism but also adopted a lot of Buddhist practices - they tend to interconnect with many crossovers.
Wishing you all more peace & quiet, beautiful & soul-filled moments in life 💗❤️💗

"When we see so much suffering, we have a chance to practice compassion. When people disturb us or are angry with us, it gives us a chance to practice patience. In this way, if we can apply the teachings to our everyday life, then wherever we are, at work or at home, we can use our experiences and surroundings to practice the Dharma." - Kyabgon Gongma Trichen Rinpoche #Buddha#Dharma@dharma
“Out of the bosom of the Air,
Out of the cloud-folds of her garments shaken,
Over the woodlands brown and bare,
Over the harvest-fields forsaken,
Silent, and soft, and slow
Descends the snow.”
