It is finally snowing again here and this time it may stay for a while, at least according to the weather forecast.
To honour the occasion here is another image from last week’s photo trip…
The Whitefish Point Lighthouse on Lake Superior is a must-see in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Only a few visitors after the recent snowfall, the view was pristine. Against the backdrop of a bright blue sky, the white lighthouse with its red roof stood out beautifully. It was a winter wonderland.
Here is the first of my photos from the recent snowfall.
There is a hill/mountain near me from where one has an awesome view over the region. Getting up there was not easy because of all the snow, but it was worth it.
Right now it is raining heavily and the snow is melting fast, so all that remains from the beautiful snow covered landscape are memories and photographs…
Luckily winter is only just beginning and there will be a lot more snow to come…
Absolutely elated and honored to know that one of my photo "Tree textures in winter land" has received Honorable Mention under the category "Nature-Trees" at the prestigious International Photography Awards 2023. Thank you @iphotoawards!

The response here to my first picture was absolutely unreal!! Thank you all for the nice words and the tips. I put some hashtags into my profile now like people have suggested! Let me know if there’s anything that stands out or that I should change!😁
Today I have a picture I took from the same trip to Germany. This was taken at the top of the Nebelhorn Mountain next to the village of Oberstdorf. The sky and the mountains made such a nice symmetrical shape I just had to capture it.
Hope y’all like it! ☺️
For my next post, would you like to see more landscapes, another bird or something completely different?
