I've written a bit of an extensive guide on navigating ActivityPub and its many apps, and instances, along with some initial questions new users might have, and links to mobile apps.
You know this #fediverse software called #wafrn you just learned about today really takes inspiration from #Tumblr when you see #hashtags with hyphens :chuckling_okuu:
That simply is just illegal in #Misskey :koakuma_giggle:
:MokouWha: what's with #forkey related developers doing shit in the #fediverse that can only be dreamed by the absolutely deranged :suwawawa:
first we have someone trying to make migrating a #mastodon instance to #sharkey possible, now we have #firefish to some #tumblr lookalike called #wafrn :TenshMelt:
pls keep coming up with this shit, the fedi needs more of this :RumiaPray:
@ArtBear Lately I've also heard of several tumblr-esque software. I've tried #Wafrn (My account there is relatively active) and I know of another one in development.
there is now a fedi tumblr clone called #wafrn
the familiar ui feels less confusing than mastodon & would be a good fit for #fandom but for the time being it's pretty empty
New feature just dropped: CUSTOM CSS. This custom css will apply in your whole wafrn experience.
It will also apply to the people who visit your profile! They will get a popup asking if they'd like to enable custom user generated CSS, and once they go for it, they will witness your blog in all its glory, with your custom CSS.
If you'd like to do this, there are a few things you must know:
Images and fonts will only load from media.wafrn.net and the cache server. So if you'd like to use an image as background for something, you must upload it to wafrn first. You can create a post with the image, and you can copy the url from there
Right now we dont have any, but if you want any custom font you can let us know and we will upload it to the resources page
This feature might break some things in the future but we will do our best to avoid it. But please, avoid extreme custom modifications on the notifications page, since it might recive a big change at some point in the next few weeks
Here is an example CSS that will change the background of the page:
body {
background: url('https://media.wafrn.net/1686686523908_4af81e1f4fa1b601d1bed46b94eeb038480ccad9.webp');
}
You can copy this and add it to the CUSTOM CSS textbox in the edit profile page
This is a good starting point, feel free to share your tips in the tag customcss4wafrn
