Dear #webDev

Who are your favorite #Web #educators and #developers who have stopped posting to Twitter? People who support #diversity and #openness in the #webDevelopment community on the #Fediverse instead of chasing engagement on a hate-site?

I want to #boost them!!!

Well, that fucking sucks. I just went into my o3 meeting with the boss and was told that I don't have a job anymore. If anybody is looking for an experienced / / dev in the area (or remote), let me know.

It's alive!🎉

I've built a #transpiler in #Rust, compiled it to #WASM and integrated it into a #Vue app! :awesome:

It's called selecuery.✨

It can transpile X++ select statements into query expressions. If you think "X++" is a typo and you don't have any idea of what I'm talking about, don't worry.😄

Have a look at the video below.

This project is dear to my heart! ❤️ I've started it 2019 for learning #RustLang.

I think, I've been transpiled during this project as well.🤪

#Compiler #Magic

A video showing a web app with two code editors side-by-side. On the left, source code is entered, which looks like an SQL dialect. As the code is entered on the left, the code editor on the right updates in real-time. The right editor shows the SQL-like statement in a very different form, namely as a sequence of method calls on a query object. So it has just transpiled a declarative SQL-like statement into a procedural query expression. You can think of it a bit like C#'s LINQ: LINQ also has a declarative form and a procedural form.

Wait, what!? doesn't support scoped styles by default!?😱

happily goes on and creates a new component😊

Doing some formalising of some mentorship for web developers, and I would like to ask you:

What are the fundamental concepts that a mid level web developer must understand to be solid in their job?

If it helps, the devs in question work mostly with JavaScript, CSS, HTML and Vue.js

This is my second try to move to Mastodon or at least to try to convince myself to use it instead of X. Do you have any recommendations for whom I should follow? I'm interested in

Urgh, #Rust + #WASM + #Vue is such a dream stack! ✨ 💖

Stay tuned for some magic in the next few days... 🤞

I’m looking for work! If you’re hiring and I seem like a fit, please reach out.

I have ~7 years of experience as a full stack software developer, and was founding engineer / CTO of Zoba.com.

I graduated from in 2017, have been working on early stage startups since 2014. I studied CS, concentrating on data science and ML.

I’m strong in , RoR, , , , and . I’ve dabbled in , , and .

After a bit of playing with #FastAPI, I feel like it's really, well, API-oriented. You can have templating of course, but it's just a liiiittle clumsier than returning JSON (e. g., you need to manually inject the request into it).

So I'm not entirely sure if I should stick to my original plan of mostly rendering HTML and using #htmx, or if I should go with the framework flow and make a #Vue app. Probably the latter TBH.

Yo #developers, #dev bubble, i need your thoughts. If got an older #Vue Project that needs some refactoring. Should i try to fix it, or rebuild the whole thing in #Svelte? I mean, it will be a ton of work, but it sounds like a lot of fun 🤔

When I started #Questlog the plan was to use the same tech stack as we use at work to use learnings from private projects for work and vice versa.

But Questlog doesn't have to be a single page app. And this annoys me. I have to go the extra mile for so many things that just should work.

I really think about completely rewrite the front end with #Laravel #Livewire instead of #Vue.js with #Inertia in between.

I would definitely have to think more to achieve some things I currently do, but the result would be a much faster and smaller page that isn't completely dependent on JavaScript. Most of the stuff I do would probably completely doable without JS these days.

Honestly getting really discouraged by all these layoffs. I had high hopes in the beginning because companies typically do a lot of hiring in Q1, but with big tech companies doing sweeping layoffs again the market is being flooded with highly qualified devs.

That being said, if you need an experienced engineer, I'm here.

Remote Work bevorzugt.

Due to a difficult contract situation I'm currently open to employment offers as #Frontend / #Fullstack #Developer.

(Assuming backend is Node.js or #Python)

I can handle frameworks and libraries like #Angular, #React & #Vue but can also achieve amazing results w/ #JavaScript & #TypeScript.

I'm happy to share my knowledge in #Accessibility, #Security & software architecture

Remote Work pref. I've worked internationally before (Portugal, India) but insist on German jurisdiction.

With frontend development, is it better to start simple and build on top of standard HTML, CSS and JavaScript? Or do you need a swiss army knife framework, like Next.js or Angular? I looked at recent Vue developments and found a lot to like about its "progressive framework" approach. https://thenewstack.io/want-out-of-react-complexity-try-vues-progressive-framework/ #vue #vuejs #javascript #frontend
