It might be super fun to put some #gemini sites up on #HF#PacketRadio along with a #PacketRadioBBS . Something makes me think that the young folks would dig the idea of #VHF Packet radio, too.. Hell, they like cassetttes and vinyl LPs ..

The #Apollo#spacecraft included 2 scimitar #VHF#antennas for short-range communication with Earth, the Lunar Module, and the lunar surface.
The Block II #CSM, pictured here, moved the #antenna to the Service #Module from the Command Module.
On the slim chance this helps someone avoid being ripped off: I recently bought an icom IC-M25 VHF radio off ebay. It worked fine when I got it but I had doubts about its authenticity. The security hologram didn't match the description, and the immersion sensor pad was not connected to the PCB.
I posted the fake for a refund and paid an extra $50 for another one from a more reputable seller. The hologram sticker on the new one matched the description.
I have NO IDEA why i am so dead set about setting up a #PacketRadio station in 2023. I think I just want to participate in #NTS on the digital level. I just gotta figure out who I can even connect to on #VHF
Howdy everyone, we are W5AC, the Texas A&M Amateur Radio Club. Our history dates back to at least 1912 with the callsigns 5AC and 5XB at what was then the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Texas.
In the past, we have done an early play by play coverage of a football game in 1921, chess matches with N5XU in Austin, and long telegrams with our Model 19 teletype on #rtty
