Here is a photo of a wetlands reconstruction in #Truckee#California. In the distance is a ski area. It also has a multi-use path used for foot, pedaled, and wheeled users. A lovely place for a meditative stroll, run, or bike ride.
I-80 remains closed at the Nevada state line and Colfax. Last night, we had a mass amount of vehicles stuck over Donner Summit and it took several hours for emergency personnel and tow trucks to reach motorists."

This was the only person #dancing at the time to a rock band in a weekly #StreetFair in #Truckee#California. It may have been because it was very hot. Temps were 90 f which is rather warm for a community high in the #SierraNevada mountains.
The weekly event is Truckee Thursdays. It's very well attended.
This is what proactive wildfire management can look like. Trees are thinned, bottom story shrubs and debris are culled. Prevents #wildfires from spreading along the ground and subsequent flaring from tree tops. This generally makes fires easier to contain, manage or control over time.
Dear Friends, #ClimateDiary today. I've been with my family in the Sierra Nevada Mountains near Lake Tahoe. I'm not a #SierraNevada#climate or weather expert. Daily temps have peaked near 30 C (85 F) and with the strong sun at 2,000 meters (6,500 feet) it's warm! Swimming helps! We also explored these abandoned rail tunnels near Donner mountain. They are locally famous and offered a fun respite from the hot sun!
