Today's #VGMWednesday has the theme #TooManyTimes, representing music you heard too much because a part of a game was difficult.
I'm going a little abstract with Shuffle Or Boogie from Final Fantasy VIII, the music of the Triple Triad minigame. I love Triple Triad, and make heavy use of the Card Mod ability to power up my party, so I always play a lot of games. I am also, however, a very sloppy player and tend to only use my top level cards. So when I inevitably mess up a play and lose some, cue several more games while I try to win them all back.
For today's #VGMWednesday, with the theme of #TooManyTimes and representing music you've heard over and over again because the area is so difficult, I was tempted to go with Metropolis Zone from Sonic 2, because not only is Metropolis the hardest area in the game, it's 50% longer than all the others too!
However, I thought I'd go for a more personal pick and went for the Icefire Treetop theme from La Mulana 2. This track is amazing and it's literally the only good thing about Icefire Treetop, an area that you have to revisit over and over again and is not only incredibly difficult - prone to killing you at a moment's notice - it's one of the least visually appealing areas in the game. Also anywhere that isn't filled with lava (or POISON MAGMA) has ice platforming physics! What a nightmare.
My pick for today's #VGMWednesday#TooManyTimes. This time it's about the music you have to hear many times because you're stuck on a level/battle/etc. 😂
While this is the game's opening song, it's also the BGM for the game's secret and final boss.
I can say that getting an S+ after defeating this boss is really satisfying. 😆
@miona's #VgmWednesday is about music you heard #TooManyTimes because of difficult moments in a game this week? 🤔
My first thought for this hashtag has nothing to do with difficult moments in this game, but with the repeated starts of it because I played it for so many years... 😊
