@glitchontwitch and I are having an #EnigmaWatchParty for Halloween.
It's supernatural, creepy AF but not too scary and really good. Four episodes on GMMTV's official youtube channel.
Anyone else want to join us?
Halloween is on a Tuesday so maybe anytime from the 24th on? That gives a full week.
Want to join our #EnigmaWatchParty in this week before Halloween? Or after, I'm flexible :) It's a great, short (4 eps) really creepy supernatural series set in and around a girls high school. VERY bingeable.
Free to watch on #GMMTV 's official youtube channel (completely legal). Thai series are uploaded in 4 segments per episode, which is confusing at first. You'll soon get the hang of it. This playlist will help.
I dunno. In my experience, if the cat likes your date, then your date is a good one. I had a boyfriend who was hated by my cat. But that same cat loved my Spouse.
So waking up the next day to find your cat happily getting scritched on the lap of your date is a good sign.
this lakorn is so good at balancing high stakes with knowing that it will all work out, somehow. well most of it. some of it might not. but maybe it will. 😱 💖 😱
MDL has not one but two places where you can Add Tags which aren't the place where we should try to get a tag added (we're required to go through Edit Page/Genre 🤦♀️ ) and they can be weird about what they accept as evidence so who knows?
I wish I could share my submission to get Strong Female Lead added to #KhunChai/To Sir, With Love here but the only part that isn't a spoiler is the concluding summary "They have ovaries of steel."
Li & Jia are a force of nature. #ThaiDrama
It wasn't the light hearted comedy I thought would be good balance to the intensity of the lakorn I'm watching, but damn GMMTV hit it out of the park with The Warp Effect. Full on, absolutely crammed to the brim with good messaging but the resulting density of pain through the middle was difficult. Watched far too much today to get to the end, and they pulled it off.
Four episodes into #TheGifted and i think my expectations were a bit too high, given how much praise this one gets. It's good, and there's still plenty to go so maybe it will get better, but so far it doesn't have the tightness, energy and complexity of 55:15 Never Too Late, The Shipper or Enigma.
55:15 also starts out with a focus episode for each main character, so perhaps that's set my bar unfairly high.
This is just lovely. An inquisitive, full of life young woman as lead, calm man who appreciates all of that in her, delightful mischievous Uncle who makes her found family instantly, friendship between women, a calm setting on a farm in Japan and trips for food and sight seeing, negotiating language differences and learning more about Thai language through that, gentle and real emotions.
Will be watching this again. Ask me for link to fansubs
it's a small wee thing with a simple story, simple emotions and a handful of characters but it's a lovely place to be....
one of the characters talks about wanting to stop time so she can stay and i just realised that's what i did when i said nope, 45 minutes is enough for now. going to save the last episode for later.
I installed the Vipa (Thai PBS) app months ago but haven't watched anything until this evening. Not a BL, The Rhythm of Life / จังหวะชีวิตลิขิตฝัน episode 1 shows us an ambitious captain of a school marching band bullying his juniors, presenting heavy narcissistic traits. His teacher and even his father are irritated by this out of date behaviour to uphold old ideas of discipline. Very very intense first episode (50 minutes).
When a drama is really satisfying, i almost always slow down my watching. Not Me, Moonlight Chicken, The Broken Us are standouts with this. Add #KhunChai to the list, all the more striking for the amount of tension, suspense and did not seeing THAT coming twists it throws in.
Piyathida Mittiraroch is stellar as the matriarch Li. https://mydramalist.com/people/9533-woramusik-piyathida #ThaiDrama
this is just fabulous. earnest lakorn angst, scheming villains, others pushed into desperate acts and scheming, gender balanced cast with central roles for women that drive the plot, family drama oh the drama, found family within the Family, side plot of a plucky young woman trying to single-handedly save her household AND refuse to marry without love, sweet kids, the best brothers, and one more thing but i'll leave that a secret 😉
Ha ha, the vibrantly colored #ThaiDrama#ReadySetLove is just 6 episodes, but I am loving it so far.
The premise is similar to the "Y: The Last Man" comics, and women compete in a Hunger Games/Squid Game/Love Is Blind tv contest to get to marry one of the few eligible men. The 5 guys in the competition are caricatures of boy band members, with their own thematic colors and personalities.
No DEATH games (yet?), but there is corruption bubbling under the surface...
