I'm a big fan of the podcasts Aethuran: Dark Saga and Tale of the Manticore. I also love the OG Diablo video game. I'm looking for tv shows that are similar. The only ones I can think of that fit are Berserk and Castlevania. I enjoy anime, but I'd like some live action stuff also.
I finally got to rewatch the finale after having a difficult time the first time through.
The song choice throughout the series has been pretty great, but the last two tracks were exceptional. "Father and Son" by Cat Stevens and "Fight Test" by The Flaming Lips were not only good choices, imo, they flowed together very nicely.
I love Fight Test. I knew it the second the opening played. I'm not sure I've ever heard it on a soundtrack before.
E1: Fun intro, nonsense story
E2: ?? I already forgot
E3: DNF, too stupid
E4: Fun space battle, pew pew
E5: Oh boy!! Great multi-threaded story
Just finished episode five, which opens with a callback to the ToS manly combat music, and then launches into what has to be a highly intentional do-over of “Turnabout Intruder”, generally regarded as the worst ToS episode. And it has a great time with it, and so did I! #TV
The Avengers episode today was 'EPIC', with Peter Wyngarde playing a slew of characters, all in the same fake movie. I doubt anyone will remember Wyngarde but he was quite a star for a few years in the late '60s, well after this epi was made. He played Jason King in 'Department S' then 'Jason King' for one season. He was a also a well-known stage actor. This episode included a gaff, see the first photo. Or should I say 'gaph'.
Marvelous Mrs Maisel is over! Season 5 was a return to form and I really enjoyed it. I'd be here for a spinoff following the adventures of the neurotic over-achieving daughter, who sets off on a road trip in 80s America during which she plays in a post-punk band, invents the internet and averts nuclear war a few times. Later she trains a large language model on recordings of her mother's comedy act. The resulting AI starts WW3.
The 700 Club.
The original TV grift of the GOP Grifting Old People. How Franklin Graham or any fascist "Church" continues to operate in the wake of such a long standing chain of fraud TV evangelists is confounding.
Summer is the season of returning shows, revivals and/or spinoffs of original franchises, says @sepinwall. He wrote about his most anticipated shows, including "Black Mirror," "The Bear" and "And Just Like That..." for @RollingStone. Which are you looking forward to most?
'The Resident' creator Amy Holden Jones turned down editing E.T. for Steven
Spielberg so she could direct her first film before she was even 30. It's one of many bold decisions in her trailblazing career that would eventually see her become an A-list screenwriter and major TV player.
After #reading the Six of Crows duology, I'm really looking forward to watching Shadow and Bone, the Netflix show set in the same universe and featuring some of the same characters from the #books.
Looking for dark fantasy tv shows like Castlevania.
