When you create a DEVONthink database, you need to save it to a specific location. In principle, there are many options here. Some are good, some others rather not. Here are the advocated options and things you need to know. #devonthink #mac #macos #sync #safety https://www.devontechnologies.com/blog/20230912-where-store-databases?utm_content=buffer38a00&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=buffer

"Thing is: was built with privacy in mind. It was encrypting all data from the very start, by default. ’s goal was never monetizing this data.

on the other hand built a sync service that allowed them to collect all of users’ data, with a tiny encryption shim on top of it."

If you don't want Google to see (and !) your bookmarks: Enable . Or better: Switch to Firefox!

Heya folks! We’re switching things up and syncing on Thursday this week. This is to allow more time and testing for OpenSSL 3 to land for the next sync. 👀 🔒 Read the full post on our forums: https://discuss.getsol.us/d/9687-sync-updates-for-week-34-2023

Tip of the day: When it comes to syncing in #DEVONthink and #DEVONthinkToGo, some people wonder or get confused about how to “get my databases on both devices”. Here are some tips and things to understand about syncing. #pkm #productivity #sync #tipoftheday https://www.devontechnologies.com/blog/20220628-devonthink-sync

Hello everyone,

While we are working on new projects and improving the service, we took the opportunity to create a new survey(link below).

Since we don't track the behavior of our customers here at Filen, this survey will help us better understand what you want and what drives you to us.

Each participant will have a chance to win a (1x) 1 TB or one of five (5x) 100 GB plans! (There will be 6 different winners!)

Thank you, good luck and best regards!

Anyone tested PouchDB in the browser and set it up so it syncs with CouchDB? I'm trying to make a minimal thing and was wondering if it could sync a blob/attachment. That way I could get away with some html/css/javascript on github.io and only CouchDB as a webserver.

Because nothing compares to it really. The polish, the UI, the UX, plus the developer ljdawson is an awesome bloke who listens to his users, as he’s shown time and again. So, I’m happy to support a dev like that.

What service do you use for secure #cloud #storage? Over the years I’ve tried many of them but focused on the Canadian service #Sync. It was the first that offered full #encryption by default. Sadly, in recent years customer service has plummeted and the service itself has failed to progress especially in the Apple ecosystem. Proton is a newer entrant but their service is clunky and there is no Mac app. The best value and service seems to be from NZ-based #Mega which I am now trying out.

A good app for notes, but not necessarily a notes app.
UI similar to Apple Notes but it HAS to have an Android + macOS + iOS app and must sync to Nextcloud/Webdav.

I use iWriter Pro, NC Notes and 1Writer now but I'm sick and tired of using Markdown for notes and writing.

Any ideas?

Former reddit app Sync now available (in beta) for lemmy.

https://lemmy.world/post/2515668

See also the app's community if you're interested: https://lemmy.world/c/syncforlemmy

The story here, AFAIU, is that it's the same developer porting the app from a reddit to lemmy backend. I've never used it, but android users have been excited for it from what I've seen.

Oh and please note that bugs should be reported in -support-and-bugs in the discord: discord.gg/qYWxqva or the github.

LJ has been working very hard - this is beta 24 from no betas a week ago.

And again, it is a beta - some features like Ad-free IAP and submissions are not there, but they will be in there eventually.

Firstly, I’m happy to see Sync return.
I made sure to subscribe to help make developing the app financially viable.

Secondly… With the Sync beta just going live, I’m already running into my very first bugs.
What would be the appropriate place to report these bugs?

Edit: My question has already been answered by OP:

hey, you there.

stop using and your to save . i shouldn't have to explain why, but i will. you're gonna lose those tabs when your browser crashes (WHEN.). browser history should be cleared often. don't depend on that.

#android #lemmy 2 apps are comming from reddit #boost and #sync 😀

OC I've been transferring files for over 7 days.

I've been using a cloud hosting provider under sync.com, great for actively syncing my files between machines I might be using as well if I wished to have any employees's later on as I was paying close to £30 a month I decided that it was best to self-host my files even if it was just by 10TB Hard Drives that only cost £200...

I'm looking for some software that will allow me to "check out” a folder from my NAS so I can work on photos locally on my Macbook’s SSD, then when I am done “check in” back to the NAS.

Currently I am trying this out just using Rsync in a terminal, but it would be nice to have a GUI to select folders.

Does this exist? Does anyone have any suggestions?

I want to move to Linux but I need to be able to access my apps that are not supported

Hey, I use the Adobe Suite for daily use to build and develop posts and videos for multiple people and can't have my workflow slow down by learning a new application, I've looked into Linux a few times and want to really move over in the future but due to it not having support for Adobe, I'm not sure what to do....

Well that’s just brilliant! Upgraded macos to newest version, noticed icloud photo sync isn’t working. Noticed I need to accept changes in terms & conditions.. Which I can’t! just endless loop back to the same page. Very nice Apple.

Any help appreciated!
