Kandji are looking for a Principal macOS Software Engineer. Its a Swift codebase. I am the primary QA for said software so you would get to work with me! Take that with a grain of salt. It was San Fransico but no one wanted to work there.. I wonder why? I can answer questions if you would like.
@daniel and @dave get into the nitty gritty of the DMA, alternative app stores, and what opportunities and impacts this might mean for the future of development on Apple Platforms!
Has anyone an idea why a configuration with an other name than "Debug" is not used while being in the Xcode editor ? Can be seen quite good in Xcode 15 which the code being greyed out. My scheme already references the "Development" config.
What's even weirder is that if I change the config that is used for CLI builds to "Development" it works in the editor.
But this is not needed if the Config is named "Debug"
I made a thing! #MacHelix is a native #macOS app wrapping #HelixEditor. It uses #SwiftTerm to embed a terminal and my fork of helix with a rudimentary IPC scheme for bidirectional communication between it and the mac app.
It's really prototype quality and may never become a real thing, but I’m having a good time learning new things (like #Rust).
@davidgarywood Still plugging away at my water-tracking app, #Wotter! I feel most people are interested just because of the cute lil guy on the icon. 😂
It's been a while since I posted about @tootsdk - maybe it's worth the #introduction!
#TootSDK 📣 is a cross-platform Swift library that can give you a head start when building apps for Mastodon and the fediverse in general. Works on desktop, mobile and server-side.
@davidgarywood and I created it with the goal of helping folks build all kinds of fun experiences that work with your favourite fedi instance. When we first moved from the other place, Dave set up a Mastodon instance for himself while I picked a Pleroma instance, and so we continually try to keep things working for both of us.
In any case, feel free to check it out and as always, your thoughts / comments / issues and PRs are always welcome :blobcathearthug:
Vision Pro looks really cool! Diving into the more technical bits seems like the platform will take care of all the complicated and boring stuff about 3D (as one would expect) leaving all kinds of powerful APIs for creating apps. Can't wait to write some code as soon as macOS Sonoma has finished downloading. 🚀
