Dramatic Clouds Over Kahuku Point. This is an area of undeveloped coastline on Oʻahu’s North Shore, one the few remaining places on Oʻahu with intact coastal strand habitat hosting monk seals, yellow-faced bees, Laysan albatross and sea turtles.
Spiller's Cove near Twillingate, Newfoundland was a beautiful hike, and not too long - it was maybe 2 kilometers each way. There was no one else around. I'm not sure if that's normal or if I just got lucky, but I wasn't complaining.
The Sagres Headlands in the Algarve of Portugal, sheer cliffs rising up nearly 200 feet, spectacular, but what is even more spectacular is when the Atlantic is showing its fury, waves can crash another 100 feet straight up over the top. On beautiful wrap canvas.
Mood photo from today and our walk along Saltburn (Yorkshire) beach to Marske and back. Bracing for 2nd May but great for creating an appetite for Britain's gift to the world - fish & chips.
I don't attempt many sea or landscapes in soft pastel although I would like to find time to practice them more often. I did do this piece called 'Atlantic Wave' back in 2018 and was pleased with how it turned out. I feel it captures the energy but also the delicacy of the ocean wave.
