Playing some Rimworld between meetings. It's a fun and surprisingly addictive little base-building/exploration game, and as a bonus it's small (less than 500MB) and runs flawlessly on Linux (Pop!_OS here).
However, the downside is my search history looks pretty dubious now. "How to harvest organs" "Slaughtering animals" "Making drugs" "How to burn corpses" etc. etc.

I have been diagnosed with Retinitus Pigmentosa, which is a disease of progressive retinal degeneration. I am legally blind, although I have about 5-degrees of vision remaining in my fovea. I'm interested in researching and developing BCIs (Brain-Computer Interfaces), specifically BCIs that function as vision prostheses that may help with conditions like RP, or the more common degenerative retinal disease AMD (Age-related Macular Degeneration).
I enjoy playing computer games like Age of Empires and Rimworld. I used to program computer games when I was younger and would like to get back to it one day.

I just love #Rimworld and probably have 500 hours in it, but only playing Dwarffortress since the #Steam release, I am really struggling to get into it, simply due to struggling with the mechanics
I think I just need to watch some good and entertaining gameplay where some things are just explained in more depth.
Rimworld - ein super Spiel - aber geht das auch im Multiplayer?
Eigentlich nicht - aber es gibt einen wirklich gut integrierten Mod für Multiplayer mit Steam API-Integration in sehr hochwertigem Zustand! Einfache Installation über den Steam Workshop und dem ingame Modmanager.
Das haben wir heute Abend zu zweit angetestet und eine kleine Kolonie aufgebaut.
I've been playing #RimWorld again, my favourite game. A drop pod with raiders landed on my main residential building whilst everyone was sleeping. I managed to get everyone out, but the raiders set things on fire did not even make it out the building. Luckily, my food storage was unharmed
Found this cool #RimWorld mod, shows a heat map of where my people go most often. Quite interesting to look at and useful for optimising travel times. You can see there's a lot of traffic to and from the kitchen (top left) and the main residential building (bottom left). There's also a lot of traffic through the killzone (top centre), I'll add a side door to avoid this as it's quite slow to go through
Timelapse of 8 in-game years in #RimWorld. This is my first time playing with all DLC. I've struggled with food production for a lot of the later half of the game, maybe something to do with the 52 dogs!
After getting crushed twice in a row in Rimworld, I'm now watching Ic0n's tutorial series on the game. Hopefully I'll figure out just what I'm doing wrong so my next set of pawns might actually survive.
Heute gibt es über den Tag verteilt meine Games of the Year. Wobei das keine Auszeichnung ist, sondern lediglich die Spiele sind, die ich dieses Jahr durchgespielt (oder zuende gespielt) habe. Dazu kurze Erläuterungen von mir. Wer nicht möchte, dass ich die Timeline vollspamme, kann die folgenden Hashtags stummschalten:
Kaum zu glauben, dass ich das Spiel erst heute vor einem Jahr zum ersten Mal gestartet habe. Es ist eines dieser Endlosspiele, man kann immer einen neuen Spielstand anfangen. Man sucht sich eine nette Kachel, baut eine Basis, versucht eigenwillige Figuren am Leben zu erhalten und schon ist man im Game Loop gefangen (wobei die Lernkurve zu Beginn schon steil ist).
Die Modding-Community ist der Wahnsinn und der Soundtrack ist unfassbar gut gelungen!
