Sentinel-2 satellite view of Lee's Ferry on 4-21-2024. (not high enough resolution to pick out a raft, person, or Corgi -- or even a Toyota Tacoma). #satellite#RemoteImaging
It turns out I did have imaging for the find location. Likely here. Would have been tough as you have to do an A/B Google Earth 3D view to see any difference in the scene. Definitely would have required a ground search/confirmation of possible signatures. #SearchAndRescue#SAR#satellite#remoteimaging
Continuing to help another family with a missing family member (German tourist who was likely a victim of crime in South Africa -- but I believe, likely beaten or left for dead off a cliff back in early 2023). No idea if it will be helpful, but families hurt so much for some closure. Satellite imaging is relatively untapped in this area, so far. #RemoteImaging#MissingPerson#SearchAndRescue
Cool! Remote imaging test subject found in the bushes! Will have to see if these are visible in Google Earth. Have been here for awhile. #RemoteImaging
Sentinel-1 view of Oceano Dunes on Thursday. Bright spots are metal/reflective vehicles (ie RVs or trucks). Dark is typically indicative of "wet", but some inland dune areas are showing as wet on the satellite; wondering if this is rain vs. waves. You can see the big swells offshore. #satellite#OceanoDunes#waves#RemoteImaging
"Thar Be Dragons" -- interesting wave patterns detected on Sentinel-1 satellite off the coast of California, December 30, 2023. You wonder what is causing those patterns... #RemoteImaging#satellite#sar#GiantPaw
Article: "Until then, we wondered: Where have all the unsold Teslas gone?
I used satellite imagery and object detection analytics from the earth observation marketplace SkyFi, to take a look at some images of Tesla’s Gigafactory outside Austin, Texas. Comparing a Thursday from last October to a Thursday in March, you can see that the parking lots outlined in green in the images below became much more full. " #SkyFi#RemoteImaging#satellite

Ooh, another good test case for satellite search and rescue if the timing was correct on satellite passes. Woman successfully rescued in May... Walked away from her tour group and spent an afternoon, a night and part of a day wandering around Artists Drive in Death Valley National Park. Wandered out into the desert on May 9th, found May 10th, 2024. Need to check the satellite archives... #SearchAndRescue#SAR#RemoteImaging https://www.nps.gov/deva/learn/news/sar-2024-05-10.htm
