Tonight's cooking tunes courtesy of Pink Floyd - More, released 1969, as a film soundtrack. A beautiful tranquil record, just what the doctor ordered in these messed up times.
Atom Heart Mother does't seem to be much of a favourite if you ask Roger or David, but I find the first long orchestrated track quite goovy in all its pompous and overthought way. It's 23 minutes of crazy, and I can't help loving it.
I have restored the “Pulse” blinking light to working order! The batteries had corroded inside, blocking the electrical contacts, thus requiring a thorough cleaning job. Fortunately Martha Stewart’s website has instructions. And since Martha Stewart was involved, of course I had to use freshly squeezed lemon juice for the task.

"I was employed to take Jimi Hendrix round Paris for an evening, show him a good time": Pink Floyd's David Gilmour on his adventures in 1960s France, hanging with Jimi Hendrix, partying with Brigitte Bardot and getting arrested with Syd Barrett
I’m taking the piss out of some MFers who know me so well that they take shit out of context and I’m putting together a playlist of tracks that talk about spending money which reminded me of this absolute banger 😂
Listening to Roger Waters "The Dark Side of the Moon Redux".
The added narratives remind me a lot of The Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking. It'll take a few listens to let the new lyrics sink into my brain with meaning.
It's interesting, but will never replace the original album, which for me is one of my favourites of all time.
@mrcompletely@aburtch@claude@rowjimmy@mikebabyak Been running a #PinkFloyd seminar every few semesters for about 25 years that brings each class through the whole catalog from the ‘65 demos up through The Wall. Really fun, but one of my favorite parts is experiencing the different takes of the students over the years. Not the same as the evolving critical assessment in this thread, more the ever-changing noob response.
