I finally got #Lomiri to compile for aarch64 and to boot on my #Motorola Moto G4 Play running #postmarketOS! It crashes very easily and only the settings app launches, but this is a good base made possible by the amazing work done by @z3ntu!

Ubuntu Touch 20.04 OTA-2 is scheduled for release on Friday 28th July 2023. To keep that on track we really need your help with testing. To find out what needs doing use the link, read the blog and please start testing
All parts of #Lomiri have been upstreamed from #postmarketOS to #AlpineLinux!!! Now it is super easy to test Lomiri yourself! Only the pmOS UI package needs to be built manually. I might write a quick post explaining how to do it if people are interested.
Lomiri on Mir2 runs on postmarketOS now! This is a milestone because it is the updating of the entire desktop to the newest version and also to use Wayland!
I know this isn't the usual "oh, I got #postmarketOS running Doom on a potato" post, but I am proud of it, so here it is.
I wrote a small #Rustlang program to convert postmarketOS deviceinfo files to #Lomiri deviceinfo files. That way, scaling and convergence should work*!
#Lomiri on #postmarketOS running on systemd! It is in a very early state and barely anything works yet, but I am excited about the prospects of not having to dance around the OpenRC polyfills anymore!
So, bad news. #Lomiri might take a bit longer than expected to port to #postmarketOS. Upstream is broken right now and we are working closely with them to fix the bug in qtmir created by the new Mir api change, but we are going to have to learn an entirely new graphics api to do so.
In the mean-time, I can confirm Lomiri runs perfectly fine on #Chromebooks, so... hurray?

We are almost done with packaging! Most packages have been moved to Alpine and we really only have the main packages (Lomiri and qtmir) left to move.
Sadly, a Mir update broke qtmir, but we are trying to fix that as soon as possible. #Linux#MobileLinux#LinuxMobile
Decided to try to setup a blog for my development. For my first piece I decided to recount the development history of #Lomiri as a frame for my future posts.
#GTK apps finally work correctly on #Lomiri running on #AlpineLinux / #postmarketOS! There were some scaling troubles previously where the window would be slightly off the screen with a big empty space on the other side of the screen and the touchscreen would also be off. Not anymore!
This comes after over four years of effort put in by @z3ntu and various other contributors, along with the more recent three months of effort I have put in.
This is a surreal moment for me because this is the biggest project I have ever worked on, so having something actually come of it is amazing.
Lomiri should be added as a UI option to #postmarketOS once some final packages are upstreamed and bugs are worked out.
