So a Discord group I am part of asked - what 12 dramas will I recommend people?
So this is a list of my favourite #CDramas and #KDramas. Have you seen any of them?
I dropped so many Korean dramas this year I'm almost afraid to start another, but #GyeongSeongCreature looks interesting and exciting. However, it continues the trend of "seasonal" #KDramas and I'm not happy about that.
A part of me doesn't want to watch it for that reason lol.
This year has been a disappointing year in #Kdramas for some reason. I'm not sure why. All I'm asking for is a more coherent script and rom coms that don't have serial killers lol
#KDrama fans, this is so sad on so many levels. He was in My Mister and Parasite, I've not seen those shows but I've always enjoyed his performances. Rest in Peace. :(
Lee Sun-kyun, you will be missed.
PS: There are reports that this was a suicide, but we can't be sure until much later.
You know, one of the most interesting criticisms I heard of #KDramas this year was that it's becoming too "Westernised". (This was in some forums I've been in.) TBH, I didn't understand what they mean, but when I watched #TheVigilante, I got an inkling. It felt unnecessarily violent, gory & had little heart. It was well-executed but I just didn't feel moved by the main lead's murderous motivations.
Don't know, something feels off with Kdramas lately but I can't put my finger on it.
The #Korean language has ranked as the second-most-popular #Asian language that Americans want to learn, with the popularity of Korean #culture, including #Kdramas and #Kpop, likely contributing to the significant interest, according to a recent study.
What an absolute delight that one of the last #KDramas I'll watch this year was an absolute gem. SO glad I gave Lee Na Young another chance after the mehdiocre "Romance Is a Bonus Book". "One Day Off" was a stunner, 9.5/10 for me - perfect length, perfect pacing, thoughtful writing, and an utterly stellar cast - Han Ye Ri AND Shim Kyeong? 😍😍 A perfect proof that less really IS more, I hope we see more like this one. #KDrama
@AnnaAnthro It's not a bad article, imo a bit shallow. It's undeniably true that there are more female-centric Dramas now, but for the last 10 years the majority of my strongly favoured K Dramas have been female-centric. They've been there, just below the mainstream radar. Ditto the "older people in love" taboo. That's been very well handled in several weekenders over the years, including one of my all time favourites, "Yeah, That How It Is"
I missed it when Tale of the Nine Tailed first came out, but now that it's available on #Netflix I'm liking it quite a lot. Both leads I've watch them in other #KDramas before, bot are fantastic actors, and after watching 2 episodes, I think I can tell that it's gonna be quite good.
This tweet got me LOL because it's so true. If you say out loud that these traffic/idol actors are less than perfect, it's like drawing a bullseye on your tweet for the superfans to come out of the weeds and eat you alive.
Predictably this poster got lots of hatred as a result, but she's amused about it.
This is one thing I cant stand about fandom. I often have to censor myself as I do not have the mood to deal with these parasocial superfans.
Eight stars out of ten for #BeyondEvil 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 :danisquishthumbsup: Very talented power cast, and a well-executed and well-written mystery! Recommended to all battle-of-the-wits enjoyers  #kdramas#kdrama
Suddenly, Won-jun, is working in an amusement park instead of the coffee shop. Did I miss that change? Did I sleep through something? #kdrama#kdramas#Doona
Uh did I tell you that I also started a Cdrama (mostly) /Kdrama podcast? Yeah, well, I did lol.
I'm still trying to get my act together - I find it super tough, for one, to upload to apple podcasts. So it'll take some time to get it distributed everywhere. However, you can listen to it on Spotify for now.
In this episode I discuss why I created the podcast ;)
If there is one thing that mystifies me with recent #movies and #TV productions is that for some unknown reason, the door openers always knew when to open the doors.
For example, I'm watching right now Underworld: Blood Wars, produced in 2016, and the doors were opened at the perfect moment by door guys inside.
You will see this in #Kdramas too, be it in period #dramas or present day.
Why did we invent automatic doors if human beings trained to open doors can do it anyway? More jobs, less electricity. Let's bring it back!
If Dongsik is really the killer then my theory is that he wasn't the same serial killer 20 years ago but that he's only re-enacting it now as a form of revenge on the villagers that turned their backs on him and his family back then. Idk I wanna believe in him somehow.
I find myself watching more #CDramas and #KDramas. This post is the result of me wondering why that is. And my conclusion: Hollywood has lost its creative spark.
