Many of us on #kbin have been unable to log on or view content for about a week now. Have you identified the problem and made a plan to restore the site?
I also want to thank you for all your hard work. Personally, Kbin is my preferred #fediverse platform. I can’t imagine how much work goes into keeping it running.
Since the site has been down for all but a few hours of the last week, I've really wanted somewhere I can get a little information about what's going on....
I tried logging in on my main account but Kbin wouldnt let me if I used my username it said invalid credentials and if I used my email it just brought up the error 50 thing. I made Matrix space so kbin users can still talk to each other when it is down. #kbin.social:matrix.org
Also Ernest this is a temporary account I don't mind if it gets deleted.
I started #kbin.social:matrix.org as an unofficial chat room for kbin users to communicate. I tried to share it on my main account but I am having login issues and federation is three days behind so I cannot use mbin to post.
kbin.social has been running into errors for days > its maintainer ernest has been mia for several months > the project's future is unclear atm
since kbin was great for veeeeeeeryyyyy bad internet connections, this is sad news > even mbin cannot match kbin's capability to render a basic ui with low quality internet > seeing kbin.social out of service is truly sad #kbin#fediverse

Die ursprünglichen #Forum'e im #Internet gelten schon länger als #veraltet und die scheinbare alternative Lösung #Reddit hat nun #KI integriert und schnuppern die #User aus. Die wahre #Alternative finden wir wieder im Fediverse und sind ua #kbin / #Mbin so wie #Lemmy. Ja das #Fediverse ist viel mehr als nur #Mastodon und Co und kommuniziert nicht nur auf einem Server, sondern in der #Community (ihr kennt es evt schon)
My, perhaps #controversial, #hottake is that I prefer idly browsing #4chan now to #Reddit. For as crude as it is, 4chan is at least human in a way that Reddit just isn't anymore. 4chan is vulgar and crass but vibrant. Reddit is full of people that appear to just #seethe online all day, regardless of their political leanings. Eternally hurling insults from afar for the approval of fellow defeated seethers and bots.
Currently, on the main instance, people have created 40191 accounts (+214 marked as deleted). I don't know how many are active because I don't monitor it, but once again, I greet all of you here :) In recent days, the traffic on the website has been overwhelming. Hach ja, nun ist es hoch offiziell, dass Reddit nun deine Daten für OpenAI sammelt. Alternativen diesbezüglich im Fediverse hatte ich schon länger her vorgeschlagen, das ist @LemmyDev und/oder @kbin, die nicht an deine kostenlosen Daten verdienen (profitieren).

@Badluck Prefiero #Kbin ahora mismo. Comunica mejor con el fediverso en general. Para navegar hilos es como Reddit, y ahora mismo es la página más cómoda desde la que interactuar con el fediverso de ese modo. Pero no hace falta que te hagas cuenta si no quieres. Desde #Mastodon puedes crear hilos en grupos o responder a los mismos con tan solo mencionarlos o usar su hashtag como ha pasado aquí en el de https://kbin.social/m/gatos/microblog . Estos días estoy ayudando desde esta cuenta a que eso pueda ser más fácil para todos los que hablamos #español. @tuneintodetuned
