Yet another JetBrains TeamCity On-Prem vulnerability: CVE-2024-23917 (9.8 critical)
If abused, the flaw may enable an unauthenticated attacker with HTTP(S) access to a TeamCity server to bypass authentication checks and gain administrative control of that TeamCity server.
Why you should care about CVE-2024-23917:
Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) exploited a similar JetBrains TeamCity authentication bypass vulnerability CVE-2023-42793 (9.8 critical) worldwide, as reported in a CISA cybersecurity advisory dated 13 December 2023, less than 2 months ago.
I wanted to see how much #JetBrains#AI assistant could help me highlight the syntax of an unknown language. It took several prompts, but I think it did a good job. This could be a neat feature for tools to guess the syntax of unknown languages and tweak them over time.
User Experience idea: have ZSA and JetBrains work together. When customizing my Moonlander Layout, I want to assign the icons in PhpStorm to my keymaps. e.g. the stop listening to Debug connection would be assigninable to a Moonlander key.
To be fair, I use a lot of JetBrain's IDE's and I've disabled the AI plugin on every one of them.
I've no intention of ever using an AI assistant for code and it was just annoying with the 💡 popup blocking the first 4 chars of every line asking if I wanted AI help.
I did mention this a while back, just go into Settings, Plugins, disable it there and then restart the IDE and it's gone.
Really not a fan of all this AI nonsense going on in IDEs. #Jetbrains with an un-uninstallable AI plugin (not to mention increasingly poor performance), #zed looks promising and luckily the AI stuff can be disabled but it’s lacking features because it’s new-ish. VSCode is a nope…
Anyone has recommendations for an alternative? I mainly work with #php#laravel#rust and #typescript. Obvious choice for me is #neovim or #helix but I’m finding it such a chore to get working, not to mention tooling.
If you’ve ever been confused about the kinds of profiling sessions you can do with #JetBrains products and your #dotnet applications, do I have the docs for you!

Has anyone worked with #golang, #nix (with or without nix-shell), and #JetBrains GoLand?
My first passes at researching this doesn't show me many promising results. Some vscode discussion suggest launching vscode from the CLI after entering the shell.nix-enabled project directory, but not sure how I feel about that.
