A rugby team set up for young people with Down’s syndrome has been described as a “lifeline” by parents who say there is a chronic lack of opportunities for their children.
Inclusion is always a great thing imho. We have made great steps in supporting and integrating people with #DownsSyndrome in the last 25 years. More to do.
A couple of weeks ago, I posted an #animation of a point on a circle generating a #cycloid.
If you turn the curve "upside down", you get the #BrachistochroneCurve. This curve provides the shortest travel time starting from one cusp to any other point on the curve for a ball rolling under uniform #gravity. It is always faster than the straight-line travel time.
Anyway, the #animation took a bit of thought as it requires a bit of #Mechanics, some #Integration and is made a bit more tricky as the curve is multi-valued and so you need to treat different branches separately. The #AnimatedGif was produce with #WxMaxima.
DuckDuckGo, Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT's web search, Ecosia, and Qwant all stopped working this morning because of Bing API. 😂 And they want Microsoft Copilot deeply integrated with Windows OS. Imagine someone is unable to book emergency medical appointments because Microsoft Copilot is down or you can't withdraw money or transfer funds through netbanking because AI and screenshot services are down. This is a good example of why we must not trust someone like Microsoft for anything serious.

Today’s complex views about #schools & integration come amid persistent #segregation that has risen in recent decades,changes in the #legal landscape & complicated dynamics of #education & #race in #America today.
Because of #Brown, #school ofcls may no longer deliberately separate students by #race —but under more recent #SCOTUS orders, they aren’t allowed to deliberately mix them by race either. #Integration advocates today have stopped looking to the #federal courts for help & are pursuing #state lawsuits instead.…some #Black leaders have concluded that the answer is not integration…but more #money & #opportunity for high #poverty#schools….

Aujourd'hui, ils avaient une animation « #CapSciences ». Et parmi les centaines de possibilités d'activités proposées, la prof entendante avait choisi... les sons et les bruits.
Ça fait quand-même plus de 20 ans qu'il y a des enfants sourds dans l'école... on hésite entre bête ou méchante.
Les enfants ont été infernaux, et c'est tant mieux.
Is there any reason you'd prefer webhooks over (long-)polling from an event consumer perspective?
I'm curious to know because, frankly, I can think only downsides of webhooks, i.e., missing requests, requests coming out of order, no ability to fetch events from the past (need to use polling for this anyway), need to secure the webhook receiving endpoint, need to set up publicly available URL when developing locally, needs to set up a message bus/queue. etc.

Huh maybe if I saw this back in 1st year Uni I wouldn't've failed Calc 1 and would've stayed in the CS program? Could've been a dev. But nah, swapped over to IS&T degree (already met its math req).
