see attached image, but basically having the images on the right side makes it so hard to "read" a post with an image, going back and forth with your eyes to "get" the whole post. So much easier to just put the images between the up-/downvote buttons and the text post....
Do any of you do video editing ... perhaps for a podcast or maybe personal home videos? If so, what is the best, most easily used video editing software out there?
I don't need all the bells & whistles, but will need features like splicing video segments (from diff't sources) together, some nice (not over the top) transitions, ease of use, & good quality end results.
Please, please, PLEASE folks uploading #photos to #mastodon, be mindful of the size of the picture and file you're uploading. First, we have to store those large #images, and second, extremely large images don't do well with the native image preview function. Have been seeing it a lot recently, and makes me wonder if a particular third party app is at fault.
Check out this Martian panorama, captured by Curiosity two days ago, on Sol 4174. It is made of 50 adjacent images, each 1328x1184 pixels. Let's go for some zooms👇
Mars helicopter Ingenuity completed Flight 71 on Jan 6.
But Ingenuity made an emergency and safe landing 35 seconds into the planned 125 second flight.
NASA states that "the relatively featureless terrain it flew over (sand ripples with few or no rocks) proved to be a challenge for its navigation system."
This sounds different than the emergency landing during flight 53 on July 22, 2023, when the ‘LAND_NOW’ software was triggered by a loss of image frames.
Recently started using Kbin and I find the preview images are squished when I'm looking at a magazine feed. To view full size I need to click the image to go into the post, then click again to see the full sized image....
I just saw a picture of a smiling Mr. Rogers behind a "Sensitive Content" warning, and I'm officially calling it. 11:15am central time, Friday the 13th, 2023, this feature's usefulness is dead from overuse. When all content is sensitive, none of it is.
As things are I have to click on the link, whitch directs you again to the individual post and then you have to click AGAIN to make the image full screen. Thats also IF the image is viewable from KBin at all. Some times you have to click a link to see an image that is posted else where. Minor anoyance but images are a large part...
So many #AI bots being used to make new art by learning about other people's art, not enough AI bots being used to scroll through #images and craft helpful #AltText for people.
Tested a free online service for the #images#upscale with #AI, this tech will be very useful in many cases. from the left to the right with two scaled up images.
Lately I have been seeing so many posts with images and they are not including Alt text for accessibility.
If you are posting images please always put a Alt text saying what is or what it's showing so people with disability can understand what they are seeing.
hello friends of rblind. I am a sighted person who follows the kbin-core repo. I saw an issue #1143 opened recently regarding the use of alt in markdown. I am having a hard time discerning whether it is a productive request or not....
"Pour illustrer un site web, une plaquette, une dépêche, une app… nous recherchons bien souvent des images. Et comme sur LinuxFr.org, nous respectons toujours le droit d’auteur, nous exigeons, tous, des images libres.
Mais où les trouver ? Il y a-t-il des pièges ? Peut-on faire confiance aux banques d’images ?
Cette dépêche décortique les licences et conditions d’utilisation de 24 banques d’images"
I like to search images over the #Internet and I've been trying different search engines and I find that #Ecosia may be the best option. I noticed that there are much more #pictures displayed than the others. Am I right? Is Ecosia the best one or are there others? #Images
images on the left side would make kbin easier to read

Is there a fediverse equivalent to Deviantart?
Looking for the best place in the fediverse that is dedicated towards images and/ or posting art. Any suggestions?
Is there a way to resize preview images in Kbin?

Looking at images on KBin is incredibly inneficient

Allow for true alt text to be specified in markdown [kbin-core repo] (codeberg.org)
