The City of #Vancouver & #VancouverParkBoard staff have announced the second version of a draft plan to clean up parts of #CRABPark, raising concerns from park residents that they will be forced out.
At a news conference Tuesday morning, staff said the decision was made last December to make the area safer and cleaner for residents of the park's #TentCity.
There have been efforts to #criminalise people who live on the streets in the #UnitedStates.
Supreme Court judges are due to rule on whether a law that essentially makes being #homeless a crime, is #constitutional.
The ruling could affect the lives of more than half a million people.

Making homelessness a crime would not stop people from being homeless. It would only help the US industrialized prison slave labour sweatshops - which is another state sanctioned, capitalist fueled, cruelty upon itself.
It's like they are constantly thinking of ways to victimise the weak and the poor.

Part of the Criminal Justice Bill currently being debated in Parliament would criminalise people sleeping on the streets with fines of up to £2,500*, or a prison sentence.
Forcibly destroying their tents just isn't enough for these bastards.
*This is fifty times more than Boris Johnson and Rishi Sunak were fined for repeatedly breaking multiple laws during Covid.
@BashStKid Yeah, it's super quick to do. I've become quite disillusioned about these online petitions but hopefully, because it's being run directly by a major charity, it might have more impact.
