First there was one crow. Then, there were two crows. (Expand 2nd photo to see both #crows)
I love all #corvids & enjoy spending time with them, whenever the opportunity arises.
This is one of the most #accessible multiuse #UrbanParks in our city. Most trails are #WheelchairFriendly - only the narrower footpaths can't be accessed with a wheelchair. It's one of the parks I recommend to fellow #PeopleWithDisabilities who love getting out to enjoy nature & outdoors recreation.
Gnarly dead Douglas fir tree at the edge of a salt marsh for #ThickTrunkTuesday and #MarshMadness. You can’t really see it but there’s an eagle near the top of the green tree to the left. #GetOutside
A ridge on Three Fingers Mountain, on the route to the lookout atop its South Peak, for #MountainMonday. Guess I should say I took this pic, considering the new rules on this instance? #Hiking#GetOutside
Very exciting afternoon cutting firewood on the acreage- in the woods behind the house: it was a 5 #mammal day! 2 spotted, one almost for the first time for me , and first photos/videos (a wesael in winter colour!), the other an every day event (squirrel-several, actually); one more heard running away (moose), and two noted from scat (deer, hare)-one of those for nearly the first time this winter (Snowshoe Hare)- all in all, exciting! Pics/vids to come.. #wildlife#Alberta#GetOutside
Last week was cold- day time temperatures into the mid minus teens C, repeated snowfalls, 15-20cm over a number of days. Nothing shocking for here, March can be both a winter and spring month here (and back and forth). This week as high as +12C and lots of melting! Pics from last week here, vids in replies-YouTube and smaller #Spectra file links. #Alberta#winter#March#snow#GetOutside
Finally got OK photos of perhaps my favorite bird, the Pacific wren, formerly called the winter wren. Stunningly melodious, several were singing today on the morning hike. Saw a few beavers as well. #GetOutside#Hiking#Birding
