Just in time for the weekend, I've completed the initial work to create Live installation ISOs for Fedora Atomic Desktops!

This is using the Live ISO support in Kiwi.

Here is my new GNU/Linux distribution guide about Debian KDE 12, the right GNU/Linux distribution for professional digital painting in 2024! Also about three major problems with GNU/Linux distros that will drive away all professional artists, IMO, and how I got kicked out of the Fedora KDE ecosystem with F40, which imposed Plasma6 and Wayland. I hope it helps other artists here!

Is it just me or do the default wallpapers feel increasingly depressing?

One thing that would certainly make the initial experience of running #Atomic #Fedora better for seasoned #Linux users is having the dnf command exist and grok rpm-ostree out of box. I understand why this is the current experience, but there's definitely room for improvement here:

dnf: command not found

Maybe #AMZN #Amazon as the big supporter of #OpenSource they always claim to be could donate traffic to the #Fedora project in a better way? By putting up some mirrors of their own? It would be greatly appreciated! #JustSayin https://www.phoronix.com/news/AWS-Cloud-Breaks-Fedora-Mirrors

UPDATE: Amazon engineering is looking at identifying the root cause for this traffic spike and at finding ways to solve it.

(non) recensione Ultramarine Linux 40: per me è no!

In questa nuova (non) recensione andremo a dare uno sguardo a Ultramarine Linux, una derivata di Fedora che si prefigge di rendere Fedora più user friendly. Ci riuscirà? Scopriamolo insieme!

Fast Fetch is what is replacing Neo Fetch, now that Neo Fetch has been discontinued. I think it was a wise choice among the Linux ecosystem.

Great news from @JanGrulich today. PipeWire camera patches are merged in Chromium and should be part of Chromium 127 (unless testing turns up something). This means both major browsers should have @pipewirep camera support soon. https://chromium-review.googlesource.com/c/chromium/src/+/3308882 #linux #fedora #chrome

Giving #OpenSuse Leap a try. Would like to go from my rather moody #ArchLinux to a more stable system. Feels like I learned everything I could in terms of usage, now I want something that needs less maintaining and gives me more time to do other things.

Given I do not trust US companies (not necessarily because of the company, but the legislation they have to follow) #Fedora or anything #Ubuntu was an absolute no-go. And #Debian just isn't modern enough, despite being dead-stable. 😉

One reason people find insufficient is also because the inconsistencies when it comes to closing applications or windows.

CTRL + W
CTRL + Q
ALT + F4

At least in Gnome this works so unreliably that it's very annoying.

Just installing Fedora Silverblue and realised that if you boot into the USB disk in legacy mode, it does a legacy install. If you boot into it in UEFI, it does a UEFI install.

Wish this was made clear in the interface and you could actually choose what you wanted. I mean, I really think UEFI should be the default no matter what these days with the option to change it if you really want to, no?

Fedora 38 is EOL from today, so from now on our kernels will only be built for Fedora 39 and later.

Attention all , , Intel graphics driver, and experts - if you have any free time, please take a look at this issue we're facing:

Loading the edid should've worked in enabling 90Hz, but it did not. Any help or insight would be so, so appreciated.
