What if we made windows being transparent when being moved and resized again? Someone should propose that as an improvement for Electron. That way you can't see it struggle to resize itself. #electron#tech#programming
recommendations? i want to dev a tiny win / linux / mac cross-platform gui app that simply adds some .ttf font files to an app's "skin" folder and edits a config .ini (xml) file. I know in win the files are in a protected folder under "Program Files". #qt#electron ?
@joelanman@joelanman I have never used #VS#Code. I have read that sighted people say it’s somewhat sluggish. I also hate #electron, but I’ve read that VS Code is the best behaved of just about any electron app out there.
I haven’t used #Windows since 2010 so I haven’t had much of a need for VS Code on the #Mac.
Wrote a post about using Vencord's injection methods with Discord client modding on Slack's desktop client. Gonna write some plugins for Slack within time :p
HASTE = Hypersonic Accelerator Suborbital Test Electron
"Rocket Lab’s new HASTE launch vehicle, derived from the Electron rocket, will provide high-cadence suborbital flight test opportunities to advance hypersonic system technology development"
I hear a lot of people complaining about the prevalence of Electron. I get it, but at the same time, what's the alternative, especially for Linux?
Few companies are going to develop a desktop application for Linux. They want write once, run everywhere. So what are the options? .NET? Java? Please no. Qt? Licensing nightmare.
If not electron what you're probably going to get is a Windows only binary. I too would prefer a native binary but it's usually not realistic.
