For the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who Sue McGregor brought together Carole Ann Ford (the Doctor's granddaughter Susan), Peter Purves (an early companion), Jeremy Young (caveman Kal), William Russell (another companion), Waris Hussein (the first director).
Also some Daleks. It's a lovely 45 minutes, on BBC Sounds.
Okay, so I have an unhealthy love for #history#drama type shows like The Gilded Age, Rome, Versailles, etc.
The costume design in The Gilded Age is so incredibly inspired and amazing, I feel like doing something concerned with it. Mind, I have no clue about anything in this regard.
I am however a firm believer in "art is anything that evokes emotions" and these dresses have me oohing and aaahing each episode anew.
The people working on this show deserve any scrap of recognition they can get
🌒 Got 269 minutes? A desire to lose yourself in the realm where drama and religion become one? Peristent urge to explore the opposing realms of lust and compassion?
Hey do you love #audiobooks and #audiodrama? Consider giving https://audioteria.com a boost. They produce AMAZING stories (including classic Sci Fi like #DanDare and #blakes7). We all know Audible and the other platforms keep the lion's share of profits (margins on audio are RAZOR thin, which cuts the studio and the actors like me) and this way they actually get to make a little profit so they can make MORE AUDIO! GO ON #HelpCreatives make a living!
This is one of Nature's drama queen moments, but unlike human drama queens, emotive skies and flamboyant lighting are a show well worth watching. The only thing that chases me away is a deluge of rain, and even that won't push me inside if I can find something craggy to shelter under.
I hope it was only an Easter egg, or fan service. Or maybe, it grew on her, and she did not realise she was doing it.
I mean, I don't think a 16-year-old who got stuck on an island alone for 15 years would act that way. Secondly, her character learned to live on her own and to be confident, so “nervousness” or “anxiety” is out of the equation.
I have nothing against it. I guess it's more of… it's too soon.
#CfP for the #conference "Rethinking #Theatre/#Drama as an Encounter: The 2024 NTU International Theatre Conference", which will take place in Taipei (Taiwan) on October 26-27,2024.
Anthony Minghella's well acted and well meaning domestic drama has its moments, but it too often stalls with random subplots and you're distracted by Jude Law's fake British accent.
Give it up Jude Law, we know you sound like Fran Drescher when they yell 'Cut'!
It feels like obvious awards bait and its 2 hour running time seems like 2 hours and 15 minutes.
A good movie that could have been great if you cut 20 minutes and three story strands.
And Juliette Binoche with that fake Mexican accent. Somebody tell her she was in a Godzilla Movie. Ease her into it.
I think Martin Freeman looks shorter in this movie.
French Actress Sarah Bernhardt was born #OTD in 1844.
Called "la Voix d'or" by Victor Hugo, "la Divine" by others, or "l'Impératrice du théâtre", she is considered one of the greatest French tragédiennes of the 19th century. The first international "star", she was also the first actress to make triumphant tours of all five continents, Jean Cocteau coining the term "monstre sacré" for her. via @wikipedia
#Drama#CDrama #KDrama fans - @glitchontwitch and I are having an #EnigmaWatchParty before/around Halloween.
It's a short 4 episode supernatural non-romantic #ThaiDrama that's creepy but not too scary and really good. Very bingeable.
Anyone want to join us?
Easy to watch via GMMTV's official youtube channel
Total scenes over on the #MECCSA mailing list, as they're having a mass brawl over - you guessed it - #Gaza, #Hamas and #Israel.
Not quite sure how any of this benefits the victims of a still unfolding tragedy, but it's always fun to see British academia having a collective bitchfest via e-mail.
the need to vent is quite strong this morning. This week is going ot be so full of drama that i'm already tired for the rest of the week.
Drama pt 1: My coworker (who's new, been working with us for about 2 months now i think) is wantint to go to a local convention. he was going to take vacation time but our supervisor said that he could use flex time for it and work a day he'd normally have off to cover the time (if i was ok on my own for the day he'd have off, which is no problem). #drama
Newspaper stories. Michael Keaton's editor realises the wrong people have been arrested for a murder and won't let the story go. Great characters, terrific dialogue, so many memorable scenes. Must have watched it at least 10 times.
