CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA — With 12 storeys, a breathtaking view of Cape Town's imposing Table Mountain and a minimal ecological footprint, the world's tallest building made with #industrialhemp is soon to open its doors in South Africa.
Workers in central #CapeTown are putting the finishing touches on the 54-room #Hemp Hotel, which is due to be completed in June.
A white car covered in tiny, tiny spiders. Small as ants. They must have just hatched.
A scrap of paper, snatched off my table by the wind, disappearing over the roof of the house next door.
A group of street cleaners, all women, wearing black rubbish bags as impromptu rain coats. Each had her own way of wearing her bag. Some just any old how, others quite stylish, with a head scarf as well as a wrap incorporated into their rain-bag ensemble.
A little girl on a balcony, just visible over a high perimeter wall. She put her hands out and a ball appeared between them, thrown by a person below her.
Feels properly wintery in #CapeTown today :) Working from home, and having direct access to my own coffee makes me happy on rainy days! Sure #Eishkom sometimes means I have to drag out my little camp gas setup and mocha pot... but still, I have coffee and laptop so the work goes on!
This #botanicalGarden is a must-see when visiting Capetown. It is set among mountains and is landscaped so that there is an adventurous feeling while exploring it.
@stefanf28 hello #mastodon friend/stranger. I am heading to #capetown in several months. Do you have a favorite restaurant, cafe, bar, etc. to recommend?
