time for a new #Introduction since i've changed usernames here and i can't link back to the longer one i made over on terror.black a couple days ago:
i'm a 42 year-old aro-ace & genderqueer #Blerd who lives in minneapolis (i lived in the SF bay area a while back tho, which is why i'm on this instance :burrito:). my old username was @flaminghohners, so some of y'all may be familiar with me: i do weekly music threads twice a week for #BlackFriday & #SoulfulSunday. music is very important to me and helps to keep me sane and calm most days. 🎧

This week, we head over to Midgar to clean a fire bombed bar, a mechanical spider, a three-wheeled truck from the 50's and a familiar, but oddly named bike.
Amongst all the things we cleaned, we discussed what it would take to get people to move over to platforms like ActivityPub and to leave capitalism behind in general.
Just came back from #blerdcon with my wife and daughter. Expensive to get in, but the experience with my daughter was worth it. She got to see people who looked like her love cartoons, anime, and the like.
Representation is so important. Yes in the stuff we see in media, but in this case, just liking the things we like at home. She was able to talk with them, take pictures, and interact.
It feels so good to know that in a community, you aren't alone.
