Costco had #Apple#AirTags on sale. Having never used one, I decided to buy a couple. I now have two smooth, round things on my desk that apparently don't stick or attach to anything without additional hardware, that I guess I can... put in a box that I might lose? Not really sure I understand this product.
The Judge presiding over my US Dept. of #Labor Office of Administrative Law Judges CERCLA/Superfund whistleblower case against #Apple just issued an Order granting me permission to Amend my Complaint to propose #RCRA and Clean Air Act retaliation, and additional adverse actions!!!
@thurrott#Apple is starting go into the wilderness period again. Nobody really wants this. Yes, it would be nice to have a conventional 20 inch MacBook Pro, but the foldable just seems absurd.
News alerts just notified me that I'm included in a request for attorneys fees. Okay, so, back in late 2022, I was hired to serve as an expert/hybrid witness for a fraud class-action against #Apple, but when Apple found out, Apple flipped out & got me kicked off. Apple's response now to the motion mentioning me is apparently feigning amnesia & pretending they don't know who I am.
I was very excited to discover that my #whistleblower case against #Apple was featured in yet another article about how companies are not supposed to fire their employees in #retaliation for reporting crimes!
If any Apple devices within range of my house are going to report on the nearby BSSIDs, then the obvious solution is to set up a dummy AP and program it to change its name every 10 minutes. #apple#wifi#security
Setting aside the fact our tech has been getting smaller and thinner for decades so I don’t really understand this question, I think the larger benefit is weight.
As someone who has been using a 13” iPad Pro for ~ 80% of my daily work and play for years, every fraction of an ounce they can shed is welcome, especially since this device is designed to be held; it doesn’t just sit on a surface like a laptop.
This morning, I talked myself out of installing #linux as I thought of all the scenarios which I would need Windows. It irked me quite a bit, Dual Booting is certainly an option; as I have invested a large chunk of my digital life on Windows, I would spend a lot of time on the Windows partition because so many programs are easier to run on that OS.
Investing in an iMac or Mac Mini would be a safer option. As I wouldn't be using Windows, I could keep access to my iPhone troubleshooting tools.
I'm shocked that an iMac costs less than my Windows PC after tax. I could even come up with the capital to fund that purchase (a small chunk of change from my 401K). Not using Windows is my goal, but I will go about it in a different way, it seems. I do worry about the security of Mac OS, but realistically, I am a pretty safe internet user.
"A bill submitted by the administration of Prime Minister Fumio Kishida would compel the dominant platforms to allow third parties to launch their own app markets and to offer more payment options, while banning the technology giants from giving preferential treatment to their own products."
