Installed #Waydroid on my #Fedora Linux PC today. Took a while until I understood how to add some ARM emulation support. Followed instructions for adding Google PlayStore, hooked up the Xbox 360 controller and fired up #AmongUs where the little one immediately started to show me the ropes.
The #AmongUs DLC for #VampireSurvivors does a much better job than I was expecting of capturing the feel of both. Yes, it's silly but still very fun.
A bunch of the enemies on the Polus Sector map are stationary until you get close enough or they're attacked. They are obviously bad guys so why go near them? But as things progress in the stage, they look enough like things you want to pick up (floor chicken, for example) that in the fray you might mistake them. It doesn't have to be a good disguise, just good enough to fool the corner of your eye for a half second.
Another well done choice was how they use walls and level design to force you to run from room to room. Walls in Vampire Survivors are selectively permeable with weird rules to begin with. The big thing they did in Polus Sector was allow your weapons fire to pass through walls but not your ability to pick up items. A consequence of this is you'll often wind up with enormous piles of rewards the next room over, giving you a strong incentive to go from room to room. You're constantly running around in Among Us but lots of strategies in Vampire Survivors reward sitting still once powered up enough. The choices of wall properties encourage you to play differently. That's good design.
A short-ified version of my Amongus: Sus Version video. A bit out of date I know, but it was so close to the Shorts format already I had to...suss it out.
I finished #CultOfTheLamb last night. I loved playing this game. It took me 50+ hours to finish it but I like to play games slowly as I play to relax and have fun.
The game has the cuteness and the cruelness magic mix. Similarly to #AmongUs and the movie #starshiptroopers .
I might some day play this again. Then on stream and give my viewers the opportunity to be part of my cult.
This is a question about game streamers. Every year there are more and more streamers. My subjective opinion is that this only makes the video game market worse. Especially indie games.
⭐ Please write why you don't watch streamers and if you watch streamers, it is even more interesting - why, which ones? How old are you?
@maxim I don’t watch streamers, as in going directly for their content or following a certain streamer. I’ve seen streams directly in my PS4 and PS5, as a way to see if a game looks fun.
As for streamers making the indie game market better or worse, I don’t have data for that. I have read that certain games had the chance to explode in popularity thanks to streamers (#AmongUs IIRC) so that’s positive.
