It looks like France, or this particular brand (Balitrand Home Store, which is super expensive) misses the 1950s, where the man of the family, smart and dandy, is in charge of the barbecue, while his wife and their friends enjoy drinks and admire his skills.
But this isn’t representative of most of us, is it? 😳 Even by the standards of the posh and wealthy French Riviera.

@meganL Last week at work, I (m44) was reminiscing with someone older (f65) about long distance calling plans, and the young ones (f22, f23, f22) had no idea what we were talking about, and mentioned how complicated that all sounded. I didn't even want to mention ATT Circle plans lol
@LibrarianRA This is right up there with the banana ham loaf I saw in "Parade" magazine once, where whole bananas were surrounded by ground ham, so each slice of the loaf looked like two white eyes staring at you. Wish I could find a picture.
@LibrarianRA i hope someday I'll come across the TV ad for Lobsterfest that used the Allman Brothers song Revival ("People can you feel it? Love is everywhere") with "Lobsters everywhere!" Feels like a fever dream but I remember it.
