So...according to my podcast player, Downcast, Gone Medieval episodes are usually about 30-40 MB for a 30-40 minute episode. Sounds about right for an MP3. Some however are 600-800 MB. I got the link and downloaded the file and it is the normal size. It looks like Acast is really screwing up the reported size in the RSS? #podcast#podcasting#programming#acast
@strypey I believe - and happy to check - that, like the ABC and the BBC, podcasts contain no ads in their home country (the one that pays for them); but does earn revenue from the ads overseas. That’s the usual model and I don’t believe it’s any different for RNZ.
