If you're rural Texan you could miss that, but it's pretty clear to anyone who's spent some time as an urban Texan who doesn't have the lived-as-a-rural-Texan cloak of protection.

I'm an atheist who believes in the positive lessons Jesus taught us. I don't believe in bigoted politicians with shitty policies.
Right there with you; I'm not an atheist (I'm kind of eclectic), but I believe in what Jesus taught. I refuse to call myself a Christian, though; the word has been co-opted by the Evangelicals to become something Jesus wouldn't recognize.
