@GottaLaff It's not censorship for a political party to determine who can or cannot cover their convention. They could exclude everybody but FOX News if they wanted to!
@lauren Then I used the wrong word. My point was, barring the press (which seems like censorship) from reporting is not a good thing nor healthy for democracy.

@Ralph058@GottaLaff No, censorship is limiting communications that you have an established right to. Primarily, the term can be accurately applied to suppression of speech by governmental entities.
It is common for example for right-wing entities to claim that it is censorship for social media platforms to keep hate speech off. It is not -- it is content moderation since these are not governmental entities.

@Ralph058@GottaLaff An ancient definition, inapplicable today in our toxic political environment. "Censorship" is now widely viewed as a government-only action, and that is how it is used in a political sense today. Trust me on this one. Or, go ahead, and say censorship, and gladden MAGA hearts.
@GottaLaff It would be nice if we could trust the other major networks (not Fox, obviously, but the rest of them) to threaten a boycott if NBC isn't allowed, but I don't see that happening. @lauren

@clearwater53 No, my point was, it's not about NBC having spine. If they can't get in, that's not about "spine," that's about censorship and being prevented from entering. So, not sure what you meant by "will NBC cave"...

It’s not like the convention is going to have any surprises. It’s just a publicity event. If they don’t want the networks to come, then great! The networks shouldn’t cover their little party.

@MikeBon but you didn’t say anything about NBC making a choice here. You said the DNC, the people who are trying to get a POTUS reelected, should deny a Big 3 broadcast network access to their nominating convention.
Here's why... No... the idea is to get the Democrats and their message to as many moderates, reg-republicans and independents as possible... because it's a better message that more people will relate to... not to limit the view... so DNC needs ALL the outlets they can get.

Cool, good luck with that if you think regular Republicans or even a majority independents watch NBC/M$NBC. Limiting by telling NBC "sorry, no interview with the President" is a easy way to tell them either get on board or get out of the way, imho.
