This is not cheering for the pay workers get at Chinese EV manufacturing companies or the supply chains etc but the fact that North American car companies have made zero moves to make simple, low cost EVs is pathetic. “Flood the market” blah blah blah. There’s no free market anyway just protectionism, government subsidies and the gatekeeping to keep EVs at $50,000 a piece. I guess this is also necessary for the demonization of China by conservatives and the oil and gas sector essential to sell the bit that what #canada does on #climatechange doesn’t matter globally. I’m not cheering for China or their business practices or whatever but the EV market in this country is a fucking joke. My only hope is that perpetual high EV prices force the #publictransit conversation #cdnpoli
