I thought God of War and Baldur’s Gate 3 might have ruined most games for me by setting the bar so high but I’m really enjoying one of the loveliest games I’ve played in a while and it’s… are you sitting down?…
Cat Quest!
(Yep.)
It’s a gentle/sweet/fun Zelda/Final Fantasy/Skyrim inspired 2.5D cartoon-like RPG that you can dip in and out of made by a small studio in Singapore. I stumbled onto it on PlayStation Plus but it’s on all platforms.
Right, with couple of toots already out it's time for an #introduction!
We're the Middle Ages in Modern Games conference: we're a small independently run annual event that specialises in short-form, written papers on how medievalisms and medieval societies are used in modern games and gaming.
If that sounds good, do follow us and read along as we post links to our papers! Boosts on this welcome so we can find interested people.
I finished my first run in #LiesOfP after about 36 hours. I felt a bit overpowered in most places, but I found the boss balance a bit strange at times.
Apart from that, a really excellent game, I'm already looking forward to NG+ and the path to platinum :owi:
Is there a modern game on itch.io (ideally with MacOS or Linux versions) that’s nostalgic for Command and Conquer: Red Alert and games like that? I don’t know why I suddenly have a hankerin’.
@czottmann Cyan did release a bajillion Myst remakes, but this is the first one for Riven! And they've released a couple of original games in the last decade: Obduction and Firmament.
Even this Riven remake apparently adds and changes a ton of things, though, so I'm super excited to experience the new stuff 😃
the idea is that Set is a game about finding lines in an affine plane and that Zero sumZ (sometimes called “Projective Set") is about finding lines in the projective plane
also IIRC you're always guaranteed that there is a set in a group of 7 cards, unlike with regular Set
IGN is re-running old footage before the State of Play that makes it look like the PS4 has just been re-announced 😅
I literally opened the stream and the guy on stage said "PS4" and everyone started clapping #games
Naughty Dog needs to hire someone like Amy Hennig to filter Neil Druckman's ideas and make something coherent out of them. Neil shouldn't be making major decisions when it comes to narrative or anything like that.
So the Bop It Extreme I have has some slight issues so I ended up getting a score of 149. It still did the normal fail sequence, not the one that has the pull command sound and the other music jingle. I think I just indirectly figured out that that one may happen at 150, as that would put you 100 away from beating it. I could be wrong, but being that it seems to happen at 170, and possibly less, and I think I saw it at 150 something, I think it could be that it does this at 150. #games
