Netflix has managed to annoy a good number of its users with an announcement about an upcoming update to its Windows 11 (and Windows 10) app: support for adverts and live events will be added, but the ability to download content is being taken away....
wdym even a shitty 50mbps connection is enough to watch stuff at 1080p
heck, even 3g/4g with it’s unusable 10-15mbps is still good enough yo stream video at a decent quality
but it’s not 90s anymore. it’s hard to even find a slower connection than 100-300mbps nowadays.
even in a remote village with nothing but fields in kilometers i got an offer with 100mbps as minimum speed
10mbps is not even an option anymore tho for most isps.
50 is the lowest that’s still exists, with most isps offering 100 or 300 as the cheapest option
All the vibrating alarm clocks I could find do not sync with your phone, and have to be set manually. I thought about getting an Arduino, but then I will have to build the whole thing by myself. The only logical conclusion I could come up with is to get a programable vibrator. But most of them are either very expensive of look...
try Poweramp, it’s paid but it costs like 10 cents and comes with a 3 day trial (no subscriptions or other bs)
definitely the most feature packed player with no competition
you have to sign out of your account before resetting the phone in order to prevent tripping the protection.
in case you trip it, you need to enter your credentials, your phone will reboot and do another wipe stage and then will jump right back to the OOBE, fully unlocked.
iirc the account is not actually saved, just verified
also don’t see how you could trigger it assuming it expects a very specific movement pattern that includes a sudden movement.
maybe by dropping your phone but that doesn’t happen that often and having to unlock your phone again is the least of your concerns in that case
well the whole point of android is to isolate data between apps. that includes your file explorer app.
still crazy how there’s no way to do unencrypted backups from data partition anymore though. the adb backups are deprecated and even though the command still exists it seems broken on android 13 and 14
I was under the impression that Privacy Badger wasn’t considered useful any more . . . ? They should’ve just recommended using Firefox instead, yes?...
the only reason I’m still using Privacy Badger is the feature that hides embeeded iframe widgets until a “view” button is clicked (for example, embeeded tweets etc)
idk my a52s’s underscreen sensor is pretty reliable.
it never failed on me, except when i was holding my finger in the wrong place (like only half of the finger on the sensor etc, and even then it allows for a surprising amount of leeway (like i was able to unlock it with 60% of my finger being off-sensor a couple of times), sometimes just requiring your to hold a finger for a bit longer)
most likely they don’t want to get into any legal trouble and it’s like a thing they’re rolling out on per country basis rather than creating a blocklist of countries where it’s illegal

entire home tab is just ad space and can be disabled
or just upgrade to enterprise, comes with no ms 365 ads and the home tab is disabled out of the box.
you’ll get literally zero ads or bs like onedrive in built-in apps, and even anti features like ms account login can be disabled (os will just skip right to local account creation)
Samsung actually offers e2e encryption for location data using a pin code but unfortunately it’s disabled by default for some reason. also only available for phones, not other pingable devices like wireless earbuds
I just noticed this when I saw a strange “Achievement Unlocked” notification pop up on Reddit. What do you think of this? it’s for the official Office keyboard.
it comes wirh shortcuts to ms office stuff and was supposed to work without installing any software, so they bound them to an extremely long key combinations no one will trigger by accident and shipped the changes to all windows users.
also another fun fact: Ctrl + Alt + Shift + Win corresponds to the “Office” key, and hitting that combination will make Windows silently and automatically download and install the Microsoft/Office 365 App and launch it, even if it was previously removed
