The manufacturer sent me photos of my Heart chew necklace pendant with the necklace string attached.

They added the adjustable necklace string, made the hole bigger so it would fit, and raised the little dip part up a little so it wonโ€™t fall off.

Itโ€™s perfect! I love it! ๐Ÿ˜

Iโ€™m going to order the dark pink and red colors.

The heart chew pendant and adjustable necklace string.

When was the last time the grand final finished even close to the scheduled time?

thomas,

@danielpeake For some reason I specifically remember it overrunning by about 15-20 minutes last year, but having just checked I think you are right.

When you wake up at 4.30 and can't get back to sleep, so decide to make the cookies and muffins for tonight and do the shopping and post the Week and it's still only 11am.

At least the cricket's on the radio, I can doze for 90 minutes this afternoon.

thomas,
@thomas@thomaspreece.net avatar

@daweaver Re semi-finals overrunning - were the official end times given by the EBU not the same as the times given by the BBC? Both shows were listed on the EPG as ending at 22:20 BST, and both shows ended within 2 minutes of that time.

thomas,
@thomas@thomaspreece.net avatar

@daweaver Freeview EPG definitely said 22:20 here. I fully agree that even the scheduled time is too long and far too late though, especially for the final.

opening act is Eleni Fourera reprising her 2018 entry "Fuego"; no fre on stage.Then Erik Saade smashes the cube again with "Popular", which wasn't. Chanel with "Slomo", a song done at speed.

That opening act was very one-note, fan service.

Nikita was hanging out with me like she wanted my attention and cuddles, and then I fed her and she went to her tree.

I told her, โ€œYou act like you wanted my attention and then I feed you and youโ€™re like byeโ€

She immediately came over like Iโ€™m sorry here you can pet me. So I put down my devices and pet her for a while. Sheโ€™s still lying next to me. :)

I donโ€™t know how much English she understands, but after 11 years with me she has to understand some of the stuff I say.

I got the chew necklace samples I had manufactured.

Iโ€™m pretty angry at them right now.

I wanted them to make a chew necklace! These are pendants and the hole is too small for necklace strings!!

HUGE oversight on their part.

Iโ€™m going to test the silicone for durability next and hopefully that is at least good.

They need to remake these and send them to me again. Why would they not say hey this hole is too small, we should make it bigger so the strings fit. Ugh!!

thomas,
@thomas@thomaspreece.net avatar

@ashleyspencer This is just part of why you get samples made - something almost inevitably something goes wrong between specification and manufacturing, and it's to give you a chance to spot it and fix it before you commit to the full order. "They're great, but the hole needs to be a bit bigger" is a really good result!

๐Ÿšจ The April 24 game begins ๐Ÿšจ

Today we consider country calling codes - the phone number prefixes used to route calls to different countries. For example +49 for DE ๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ช, +61 for AU ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ, etc.

What is the longest chain of countries such that each successive country/territory in the chain shares a land border with and has a calling code greater than the previous one?

Example chain: FR ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท (+33) - ES ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ธ (+34) - PT ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡น (+351)

You may use maps of calling codes

thomas,

@opencage I think I have a 21. Just checking it and will post the chain shortly.

@thomas@thomaspreece.net avatar

thomas,
@thomas@thomaspreece.net avatar

@opencage Actually I can do even better than that, because Spain and Morocco have a land border. So now it's 25: NL ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฑ (31) - BE ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ช (32) - FR ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท (33) - ES ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ธ (34) - MA ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡ฑ (212) - DZ ๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ฟ (213) - ML ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡ฑ (223) - GN ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ณ (224) - CI ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฎ (225) - BF ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ซ (226) - TG ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ฌ (228) - BJ ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ฏ (229) - NG ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฌ (234) - TD ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ฉ (235) - CF ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ซ (236) - CM ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฒ (237) - GQ ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ถ (240) - GA ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ฆ (241) - CG ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฌ (242) - CD ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฉ (243) - RW ๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡ผ (250) - TZ ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ฟ (255) - ZM ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฒ (260) - ZW ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ผ (263) - BW ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ผ (267)

thomas,

@opencage No, make that 26. This will definitely be the right idea for longest, but it's possible there's an extra one or two to loop through.

NL ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฑ (31) - BE ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ช (32) - FR ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท (33) - ES ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ธ (34) - MA ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡ฑ (212) - DZ ๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ฟ (213) - MR ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡ท (222) - ML ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡ฑ (223) - GN ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ณ (224) - CI ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฎ (225) - BF ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ซ (226) - TG ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ฌ (228) - BJ ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ฏ (229) - NG ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฌ (234) - TD ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ฉ (235) - CF ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ซ (236) - CM ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฒ (237) - GQ ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ถ (240) - GA ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ฆ (241) - CG ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฌ (242) - CD ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฉ (243) - RW ๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡ผ (250) - TZ ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ฟ (255) - ZM ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฒ (260) - ZW ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ผ (263) - BW ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ผ (267)

thomas,

@opencage Oops! Hopefully this is fixed now: NL ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฑ (31) - BE ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ช (32) - FR ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท (33) - ES ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ธ (34) - MA ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡ฆ (212) - DZ ๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ฟ (213) - ML ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡ฑ (223) - GN ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ณ (224) - CI ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฎ (225) - BF ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ซ (226) - TG ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ฌ (228) - BJ ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ฏ (229) - NG ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฌ (234) - TD ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ฉ (235) - CF ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ซ (236) - CM ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฒ (237) - GQ ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ถ (240) - GA ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ฆ (241) - CG ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฌ (242) - CD ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฉ (243) - RW ๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡ผ (250) - TZ ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ฟ (255) - ZM ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฒ (260) - ZW ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ผ (263) - BW ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ผ (267)

Been thinking.

I would give anything to never have any dreams again. If there was some pill that could wipe away all dreams, whilst still allowing me to have a good sleep (yes, I know this isn't really possible), I would be first in the queue. My life would be improved so much.

It's not just the bad dreams and the trauma dreams (though there are far too many of those), also the exhausting ones, and the nicer ones too that just leave me feeling devastated on waking up back in my rubbish life.

And I was wondering: does anyone else get this? I don't mean, does anyone else get problematic dreams because everyone does sometimes.

I mean, does anyone else find that their regular dreaming is so impactful that it has a measurable disabling effect and life would be massively improved with zero dreams?
