Hey fediverse, I made a fediverse sharing button you can add to your website or a blog!

A short recording of me using the fediverse sharing button, filling out various fediverse domain names, showing how the icon changes to match the software running on each server. The interface itself consists of an input field for the domain name and a share button preceded by an icon. An "https" placeholder text is before the input field to signal that this part of the URL is not needed.

There's a few similar projects (and I link to them in the GitHub repo), but it never hurts to try a different approach. Gives people more choices!

Yes, I've been thinking about some kind of an autocomplete, that would definitely be helpful.

Interesting thought on keeping track of multiple past domains used, let me give that some thought.

@djh And to add, yes, I think apps just go by domain names, and there is no official protocol handler for fediverse, unfortunately. But I will definitely add this once there is one!

And to answer your second question, I'm not actually too sure.
