My partner's card number got grabbed (somehow, nfi how). It was used to purchase a ticket on Air France, yesterday afternoon. Right before the long weekend (of course). It was an EFTPOS transaction.

We've called the bank & cancelled the card. The bank tell us to talk to Air France (didn't even know there was Air France in NZ). Air France (well, KLM who own AF) tell us to talk to the bank.

Does anyone have any ideas what I/we can do? It was... quite a lot of money.

Wind gusts up to 93km/h here, apparently. But this house is VERY exposed. I’ve been in 160km/h winds before and it wasn’t as concerning as this.

The whole house is shaking, from the floor up, and it sounds like roofing iron is flexing and bending.

Not Relaxing At All.

(I’ve been up on the roof recently and checked everything & all looks ok, but still)

Know what would be _super _ helpful? A list of accounts I’ve muted. Coz how can I know? (and sometimes I do this accidentally, then forget)

Also nice would be accounts that just never interact with me, but that’ll be a bit trickier, obviously.

Dredge now crashes every time I dock my boat. Ie, it’s unplayable. Ugh ugh ugh. Have left support req with team17 (publishers), & sent a slew of crash reports. (+ obv, tried every poss fix I could find).

Another guy I know had it crash and kill his save file, losing everything.

I would have ranked it super high, for its genre. Now? 1/5? The first couple of hours are fun. If you’re ok with paying for something you KNOW will burn you.

What’s the opposite of gg?

Seems dumb to have to argue with a friend "No, I'm not going to come and visit you in Japan, because that would involve sitting in an enclosed metal tube with people breathing covid on me for several hours, and I don't want covid"... and then have them act like it's an extreme response.

... particularly when they just got covid. From getting on a fucking plane.

Just found out my partner's 21 year old has had covid twice. In the last 3 months. So, 4x in total (plus possibly a bad flu right now).

If you're doing database work, don't create tables that have columns called 'column'. (eg order_column).

I mean, seriously, what are you thinking? Dry 80's irony? This isn't Repo Man. Hire a decent DBA if you can't do it yourself.

and don't get me started about this stupid "standard" of pluralised table names. Of course it's plural, it's a frickin' TABLE. It's plural BY DESIGN. You don't need to tell me again.

Slept on the couch last night. Partner might be coming down with something. Statistically unlikely to be covid (lack of recent social activity), but tests are not reliable until day 3/4 with new variants. So, waiting to find out if it’s just a sore throat that’ll pass with sleep, or something much, much worse.

And in the mean time, being cautious. Aka not a complete fucking moron.

(Sorry, that covid denier that was here the other week really triggered me)

Ok, so today's work involved taking a large hairy phpunit test suite (which gets run a LOT, as it should) from 7min 8 secs down to 6.7 seconds.

That'll do pig (of a system), that'll do.
