The US government is telling everybody that inflation is 3.4% per year. That is not correct. Try 14.2% and that’s about right. Source : gold/usd 1 year simple moving average.
I just noticed that the last couple of versions of the Monero.com wallet have lost like 130 megabytes of weight. Maybe it decided to lay off on the Cake.
In an era of unprecedented economic instability and increasing concerns over privacy, it is becoming crucial for individuals to protect their wealth and financial autonomy. To be fair, US Cellular was not competing. They were headed for bankruptcy or a merger. If they had went through bankruptcy, the FCC would have gotten the spectrum back and then auctioned it, and those people would have had to move to a new carrier anyway.
I have a 100 W rigid solar panel including a charge controller that I currently only use for camping to charge batteries (also useful in an emergency at home). It strikes me as a waste that I could be generating more clean energy with equipment that I already have, but I don’t have anything in mind to use this energy for....
I first got introduced to Monero by Mental Outlaw’s videos by around late 2022. I actually first mined monero before having owned any (which is a weird flex but ok) and I must say the lack of overpowered ASICS encouraged me greatly to try to start mining. I would hate mining bitcoin on my old laptops because it’s futile...
It might not be quite ready for mainstream yet, but you might want to take a look at Haveno-reto as an exchange. I completely agree with you. I buy Monero and then I spend it more when it is above the one-year moving average. So like right now I buy more than I spend once it rises above that one-year moving average I will spend slightly more than I buy which will put slight downward pressure on the price. Many people doing the same thing will cause some of the volatility to drop away as more people will be buying below the one-year moving average, therefore increasing the price and selling above the one-year moving average, thereby decreasing the price.
Yeah, I can’t build a package from source to save my life. It always ends up screwing up and I can never fix it. So I just have Linux Mint Debian running and installed the Debian package.
Some in the Monero groups here are not Libertarian, and are more interested in privacy/tech in general. That’s fine. But Macro level politics are important to Monero… Because Reto/Haveno is a response to those politics....
How about unified push support? I’ve never gotten push notifications from the proton app since I’ve been using it in 2018 because of the fact that I do not have Google Play Services installed, so I have to actually be like a caveman and manually check my email several times a day.
So i saw TWIF And a new game was added called Flicky Bee. It caught my attention so I decided to test it out and it’s disturbingly more entertaining than it has any right to be. Lol
In an effort to increase my privacy, I decided to buy a Pixel phone second hand to use with GrapheneOS. Due to some miscommunications, the phone ended up being carrier locked with T-Mobile. I have never had this happen to me thankfully but I absolutely go out of my way to make sure the device is unlocked before I ever lay hands on it and if it’s not for some reason I will absolutely return it because I flash lineage as soon as I get a new device. What I’ve found myself doing is buying new mid-range phones instead of used high-end devices. So I often find myself with like OnePlus Nord or Moto G or Pixel A or something like that.

Well, I can tell you one thing you missed in your description here, and that’s that you called what you have in cash that you send somebody money. Monopoly money, maybe.
Please note for anybody watching this video, this is 2018 video and it is quite out of date. You should not use the My Monero wallet. That is not a good recommendation. And it is incorrect about the amount of people that your transaction gets quote unquote mixed with. It’s 16 and there’s no way to change that.

Okay, I see I have never used a regular one. I think I read to use XC by default. Somewhere. And so that’s the one I’ve always used. I’ve never even downloaded the original one.
